He is risen!

The Xavier family invites all who wish to pay their respects to join us for the memorial services honoring Dr. Norman C. Francis.

A public viewing will be held Monday, March 2 at the Xavier Convocation Center, followed by a family program later that afternoon.

On Tuesday, March 3, memorial services will continue at St. Louis Cathedral with visitation, remembrance, and Mass.

We gather in faith, gratitude, and love to honor a life of leadership, service, and unwavering commitment to Xavier and our community.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed alumnus and President Emeritus, Dr. Norman C. Francis ’52.

For seven decades, including a resounding 47 years as University President, Dr. Francis shaped Xavier into a national model of excellence and access, cementing it as a national leader in education and beyond. His legacy will live on in every Xavier student and graduate whose life was changed by his belief that education could change the world.
Join us in wishing him a good journey and prayers for his soul. May God keep his family, loved ones, and all who were impacted by his presence.
