Thrilled to share that our students - Urnaba Das Roy, Samiksha Verma, Shreya Datta, and Vansh*ta Jain has been awarded First Prize in the CWAS Lake Competition.
Our project, “Urban Lakes: From a Choice of Neglect to Revival by Will,” reimagines Memnagar Lake, Ahmedabad, as a living, resilient landscape shaped by both ecological systems and community engagement. We proposed an integrated approach combining DEWATS, natural wetland filtration, and sponge park strategies to enhance water quality and manage urban flooding.
The design also activates the lake edge through pedestrian trails, public spaces, and upcycled installations, supported by policy measures to ensure long-term protection and stewardship.
This project reflects our commitment to transforming overlooked urban water bodies into vibrant, inclusive, and climate-responsive public spaces.
