It can be hard to feel at ease when we are unsure of what to do with the uncertainty in our lives. We can be so hugely affected by uncertainty, from worrying about how our day will go to worrying about climate change. Our Deputy Head of Student Services and Senior Counsellor Debs have created a workshop to help you feel better equipped to manage the stressful and unpredictable world we live in. Come join us this Wednesday 6th of April in the BIMM North Board Room from 12:30pm - 1:30pm.

🍃Mental Health Awareness Week 2021🍃
This year, the theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is ‘Connecting with Nature’
🍄
The is encouraging us to take some time to recognize and grow our connection with nature this week as an act of self-care, and to prioritize our wellbeing.
🌻
Sometimes it can be hard to access natural places, maybe because of where you live, how busy you are (how many assessments are due!), how safe you feel or your health. So maybe try bringing more nature into your home?
🎍
Having plants in the house is a great way to have something natural to see, touch and smell (pots of herbs from the supermarket are a good start!)
🌱
Check out these great tips on how to connect with nature, there should be something for everyone, and try to take a moment to notice and celebrate nature in your daily life.

🧘🏽‍♀️Yoga for Release – supporting your mental health🧘🏿‍♂️
Tuesday 11th May 10:30 - 11:30
 Brunswick Gardens!
🌟
Letting go can be difficult when we have so much to juggle and control in day to day life.
Our minds are constantly hopping from one thing to the next. We’re obsessed with starting new things, building momentum, but we haven’t quite mastered how to let things come to completion with finesse.
🌻
We all know transitions can be tricky, so take this hour to tune in to your body, slow your mind & move with intention through a gentle releasing flow.
Let go of physical tension, let go of unconscious holding patterns in the body & help your mind let go of whatever needs to come to an end for you in your life.
 🌞
This class will take place in Brunswick Square, Brighton. To find out more and book your space, please go to the student services moodle page or on the website. Free to BIMM students!

🌱Next week is Mental Health Awareness week! 🌱
Approximately one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem this year.
Mental Health Awareness Week aims to get people talking about their mental health and reduce the stigma that can stop people from asking for help.
☀️
For many students the biggest stress at the moment is the end of year assessments. During assessment season it’s so easy for our self-care to fall down the list of priorities as we scramble to get everything else done. It can be such a challenge to balance self-care and studies during this time, try to remember that taking some time out to prioritize self-care each day can really help improve motivation and you may feel more able to tackle your assessments. So, it’s a win-win!
🍃
We know how hard this time of year can be for students, don’t forget that If you’re struggling with your mental health and could use some support, you can always get in touch with your Student Support Officer or email [email protected].
🌿
We are here to provide a space where you can work through your struggles and help you explore further support.
🌞
Remember that no issue is too big or small!

⚡️Energising Flow Yoga⚡️
With and
 ☀️
Have you ever felt a little reluctant to get to yoga, lacking energy or motivation?
 ⭐️
Yoga has the amazing ability to increase our stamina, boost our mood, cultivate mental alertness and bring a sense of vitality to both body and mind. Yoga specifically works on unblocking trapped energy in the body, particularly along the spine. The combination of breath and movement helps to activate the circulatory system and awaken the nervous system, bringing new energy, or prana, into the body.
 ✨
Active poses that stimulate the blood flow through the body can help combat fatigue and also help to counter some of the effects of modern day life- particularly long periods of sitting (studying!) Stress is also one of the leading factors that robs us of energy and leaves us feeling depleted. Yoga helps to lower stress levels and in turn, increases energy levels.
 ⭐️
This is an all levels class - suitable for newbies to Yoga! So boost your energy levels this coming Tuesday morning!
 ✨
All you need is a clear small space and a device to do stream from, if you're feeling shy you can choose to have your camera off. Check your BIMM emails for the zoom link ✨

🌞Welcome to Life after Lockdown! 🌤
Over the coming months we will be running various events and workshops to help support and guide you as we navigate the end of lockdown, and the return of normal life 😊
Whilst we are all super excited about things opening up and being able to see family and friends, we also recognize that this may be a challenging time for some people. Feeling excited, anxious, nervous, overwhelmed, happy and all the feelings is totally normal and these emotions can often co-exist.
🌱
As we work towards *that 21st June date*, we will be holding weekly Yoga and Pilates classes - run by the wonderful Revitalise Brighton, check the post for further details, and watch this space for info on more upcoming classes soon!
