"Igbo Amaka Meeting Recap!

Our last Igbo Amaka meeting in Kamloops was a wonderful gathering!

We came together on Saturday, June 29th 2024 (the last Saturday of the month) to share, learn, and celebrate our rich Igbo culture.

We also showed our generosity by donating richly towards our upcoming Iri Ji (New Yam Festival) celebrations! Many members generously contributed to ensure the success of our festival, and we're grateful for their support.

We're excited for the festival on August 3rd and can't wait to come together again to mark this important occasion in our cultural calendar.

"Update from the Igbo Community of Kamloops Meeting!

We had a fantastic gathering yesterday- Saturday the 25th of May, 2024, and we're excited to share the highlights with you all!

Our community came together to discuss important issues, share ideas, and connect with one another. We're proud to see our community growing and thriving in Kamloops!

Key takeaways from the meeting:

i.We finally have a date for the first ever Iri Ji/New yam festival in Kamloops.
ii. Admission and welcoming of new members into our indigenous community.
iii. Addressing of reports from different committee members tasked with making the Iri ji a success and many more.
