It all began when Little S. spotted the Moon outside and sparked curiosity among the other children. What started as an exploration of the Moon and its phases soon grew into a much bigger learning journey about our amazing solar system!

Building on princess S. interest in wild animals, we explored a fun sensory experience where the children investigated the different patterns and textures found on animal fur and skin.

The children enjoyed recognising stripes, spots and unique animal patterns, comparing them and sharing their ideas. We then extended our learning through a creative craft activity, allowing the children to make their own animal-inspired creations. 🎨✨

Through sensory play and creativity, the children developed their observation skills, language, fine-motor skills and understanding of the natural world. 🌿💛

Last week, the children discovered a lizard’s tail in our outdoor area, which sparked lots of curiosity and fascinating conversations! We wondered together how lizards can regrow their tails and talked about the amazing ways animals adapt and survive in nature. 🔍

Following the children’s interest, we created our very own “Lizard’s Lounge” and engaged in a range of hands-on experiences to learn more about lizards, their habitats and the biodiversity around us.

Here are some moments from our outdoor play this week! Our children enjoyed climbing, running, balancing, jumping, sliding, ball games and exploring the sandpit. 🛝⚽️🏖️

Outdoor play is an important part of children’s learning, helping develop gross motor skills, balance, coordination, strength and confidence, while also encouraging social interaction and teamwork.

Most importantly, our children had lots of fun being active, exploring and learning together!

Our little chefs had a wonderful time getting creative in the kitchen as we explored the much-loved Australian story Possum Magic! 📖🐾

Inspired by the story, the children enthusiastically made their own Lamingtons, carefully spreading, dipping and decorating their delicious creations. We also made fairy bread (the children decided to change the Vegemite sandwich to fairy bread), adding a touch of magic and lots of colourful sprinkles! 🌈✨

This week, our children had a fantastic time celebrating Dental Health Week through a variety of engaging, hands-on learning experiences that made oral health both fun and meaningful.

Throughout the week, the children explored how to care for their teeth by practising brushing techniques, learning about the importance of flossing, sorting healthy and "sometimes" foods, creating tooth-themed artworks, participating in counting and matching games, and taking part in exciting sensory and fine motor activities. Through dramatic play, stories, songs, and group discussions, the children discovered why visiting the dentist, brushing twice a day, and making healthy food choices help keep our smiles bright and healthy.

We celebrated World Ocean Day by learning about the importance of caring for our oceans and protecting our beautiful planet. 🌏💙
The children explored why recycling is important and discovered how rubbish can affect our oceans and the animals that call them home. Through discussions, stories, and hands-on activities, they learned that even small actions—like recycling, reducing waste, and putting rubbish in the bin—can make a big difference.
By encouraging environmental awareness from a young age, we are helping children develop a sense of responsibility, respect for nature, and an understanding that together we can make a positive impact on our world.

We transformed our play space into a busy Doctor's Surgery 🩹🩺 extending on Miss Z. emerging interest. The children eagerly stepped into the roles of caring doctors, nurses, patients, and receptionists. They carefully checked temperatures, listened to heartbeats, applied bandages, gave pretend medicine, and made sure everyone was feeling much better before sending them home with a smile.
