What is one piece of advice you would give?
Never change who you are to gain someone else's attention. Just be you! A friend worth having will appreciate you for being yourself.
One favorite teaching memory?
I will always treasure working with Mrs. Stallings, Mrs. Sockwell, Mr. Poore, Mrs. Cook, and Mrs. Walker-Harris to name a few and helping produce some of the greatest dramatic performances the District has ever had. Mr. Poore is truly a genius with a pen!

Ms. Anderson
5th Grade Teacher
Years in Education: 35
Years of Service at South Holland SD150: 34.5
What is one piece of advice you would give?
I'm probably not one to give advice, but trust in God and good things will happen. Every day is a gift to learn from our mistakes and make better choices. Give yourself and others grace.
One favorite teaching memory?
There’s no way I can choose one favorite memory from 30 plus years of teaching. But one of the best things about being a teacher is meeting other teachers who UNDERSTAND the ups and downs. The teachers in District 150 are amazing, and I was blessed to teach 4th grade with "The Dream Team" and meet my best friend, Cheryl Dempsey.

McKinley NJHS and Student Council recently took their annual trip to Feed My Starving Children, a nonprofit dedicated to providing nutritious meals to children in need around the world. During their visit, students volunteered their time to help pack meals that will be distributed to communities facing food insecurity, making a meaningful impact beyond the classroom. Way to go Monarchs!
