(GLAD) is a Wu Tao dance course that anyone can do to reduce stress and improve physical and emotional health. Wu Tao is a powerful movement program that combines gentle dance with stretching, relaxation and meditation processes for a complete energetic workout. Many people these days have significant levels of stress and reduced quality of life, due to the pressures of living in a fast paced worl

d. People everywhere are looking for ways to reduce stress and live an authentic and balanced life. Wu Tao was developed in response to this global need 14 years ago by Australian Ballerina Michelle Locke. Wu Tao consists of a series of dances that stimulate energy flow in the body. Based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the dances are very effective in releasing blocked energy and restoring health and balance physically, emotionally and mentally. Two studies commissioned by The Alzheimer’s Association of WA have shown Wu Tao to improve the symptoms of agitation in people with dementia and improve quality of life for the older person. We are passionate about supporting people to create better health and quality of life through the enjoyable medium of dance. Through GLAD we hope to support people experiencing low income, poverty, social isolation, health problems and ageing, who would benefit from improved physical, mental or emotional health. If you work with people experiencing low income, poverty, social isolation, health problems or ageing, The GLAD program may be helpful for your clients. You can help your clients who would benefit, by arranging a a GLAD program at your establishment. For further information please contact:

One of the best things about this retreat is the joy that blossoms after a few days of relaxation and inner transformation through the dance! Laughter replaces the tears, and peace arises where there was worry and fear. So good to witness these changes in these amazing resilient women 🌸💕🌸

What a day! A beautiful Hindu ritual of prayer and cleansing at Tirta Empal. If you haven’t been there it’s so totally worth the effort. The Balinese people are incredibly welcoming to all of us westerners. We were led kindly and gently through the process by a sweet male guide. His heart was so open and kind to us. Given what westerners can be like I think it’s a real gift to us that we can participate in this healing ritual. I always take my groups to Tirta Empal. 🙏🏽

I travelled to Indiana to be mentored by this man, but you can connect with him right here in Perth! If you know a carer or loved one of someone with dementia - please pass this information on for an uplifting and inspiring experience...

Michael Verde, Memory Bridge founder, will be touring Perth this November for free Seniors Week talks. The Fremantle event link is above.

I find this work applies to all human relationships, you can also follow Michael's excellent webinar series on the Memory Bridge website and find You Tube vids of his speeches.

Emma got to soak up a bit of the Cape Peron beauty after delivering a Wu Tao Stretch, Dance & Relax at Safety Bay Library today. Such a gorgeous group and great views overlooking the park. Two more sessions to go.

The 2023 World Alzheimer's Month theme is Never Too Early, Never Too Late - nudging us all to manage our dementia risk factors. Hot tip: exercise and stress reduction are key 😉

Dance has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety and depression, plus decrease chronic pain and increase social connection. The human body is made to move!

If you find yourself ruminating regularly… holding onto your worries and frustrations. Then you are under the impact of chronic stress.

The good news is, is exercising and practicing presence and mindfulness address stress. Once we address stress - there are a cascading series of benefits - including our dietary habits.
