Founded in 1948 to provide a home and education for young immigrants to the newly established State of Israel, Boys Town Jerusalem has grown into one of Israel’s premier educational institutions. h education, support, and innovation. Serving approximately 950 students in grades 7–12 and a College of Applied Engineering, our 18-acre campus is a vibrant community of youth. By integrating Jewish values with a strong foundation in academics, emotional support, and cutting-edge technological education, we empower underprivileged boys to build meaningful, independent futures. To support our students’ physical and emotional wellbeing, Boys Town Jerusalem provides nutritious meals daily and access to a top professional staff of social workers, psychologists, and therapists—ensuring every student receives the care and attention he needs to thrive. Certified by Israel’s Ministry of Education, our graduates go on to serve in elite units of the IDF, attend leading universities, and hold key roles in Israel’s high-tech industries. When school ends, our staff begins collecting school supplies.

Not shopping.

Collecting.

Every summer, we go through classrooms gathering leftover notebooks, pencils, binders, and anything else that can be used again. Every notebook matters because we know many of Your Boys will arrive in September without the supplies they need.

One of our students lost his mother a few years ago. His father works tirelessly to provide for the family, and this young man even works on campus to help support his younger siblings.

Yet buying school supplies is still out of reach.

The school year at Boys Town Jerusalem is starting a little earlier... and for a very good reason.

We've received special permission from Israel's Ministry of Education to welcome your boys back to campus on August 30, two days before schools across the country officially begin.

Why? Because with the High Holidays arriving soon after the start of the school year, we wanted to give every boy two full weeks of uninterrupted learning, routine, and connection before the high holidays begin.

For many of our students, consistency isn't just important. It's essential. Those extra days help establish classroom routines, strengthen relationships with teachers, and set the foundation for a successful year.

It's just one more way we're committed to giving every boy the best possible start to the school year.

As our campus prepares for a new school year, some familiar faces are already hard at work.

Each summer, Boys Town Jerusalem offers temporary jobs to students who need the opportunity to earn extra money. These aren't random positions. Throughout the year, our teachers identify boys who could benefit from summer employment and personally invite them to participate.

Whether they're painting, organizing classrooms, moving furniture, or helping teachers get ready for the year ahead, every task they complete helps prepare the campus while giving them the chance to earn an honest paycheck.

For these boys, it's more than a summer job. It's responsibility, confidence, and the dignity that comes from hard work.
