Representatives from the Houston-based Texas Anglers and Aviators organization presented to The TSTC Foundation a check for $50,000 on Friday, June 12, at the Col. James T. Connally Aerospace Center at Texas State Technical College’s Waco campus.
The financial gift will fund scholarships for recent high school graduates entering TSTC this fall to pursue the Aircraft Pilot Training program at the Waco campus and the Aircraft Airframe and Aircraft Powerplant programs at the Harlingen and Waco campuses.
Recipients can use the money for equipment, fuel, housing or program tuition.
We thank the Texas Anglers and Aviators for their generosity and investment in the future of aviation in Texas.

TSTC has 11 campuses across Texas, and each one has its own story.
This week, we’re highlighting TSTC in Sweetwater, located just outside historic Sweetwater in West Texas.
Sweetwater is a close-knit community with a proud history, including its aviation heritage at Avenger Field, where the Women Airforce Service Pilots trained during World War II. Today, that legacy of learning, courage and opportunity continues at TSTC in Sweetwater.
Just three miles outside of town, the Sweetwater campus gives students room to learn, grow and build real-world skills in a supportive environment. With student housing, a full-service cafeteria, hands-on labs, a renovated library and a 36,000-square-foot Student Center, students have the resources they need both inside and outside the classroom.
TSTC in Sweetwater offers training for high-demand careers, with students learning on the same types of equipment and tools used in the workforce. From technical labs to outdoor spaces near Lake Sweetwater, this campus offers a strong place to prepare for the future.

Texas State Technical College students, faculty advisors and administrators traveled June 1-5 to Atlanta, Georgia, for the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. The event featured the SkillsUSA TECHSPO, giving attendees direct face time with representatives from more than 200 companies.
Events like SkillsUSA reinforce the critical bridge between training and the workforce needs of Texas and the nation.
“When students are made aware of the relationships that we have with reputable employers, they can rest assured knowing they will have great opportunities once they exit our training,” said Rey Tejada III, an industry relations specialist at TSTC’s Harlingen campus who attended the conference.
