We are the Eagles Flight Team, the premier competitive aviation organization of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach. Operating as part of the National Intercollegiate Flying Association, with members from all colleges at ERAU-DB, the Team exhibits a high level of professionalism and aviation excellence while competing alongside representatives from colleges and universities nationwide.

Today, the team heard news that former competitor Danny Byrnes, along with his wife Julia, were involved in a tragic car accident this past Friday. They are both in serious condition and have a very long recovery that lays ahead. If you have the ability, we ask you to help them through their GoFundMe.

Danny Byrnes is a former Eagles Flight Team Captain that competed in 2016-2020. Those that know him know that he is one of the most genuine people you will ever meet. We ask that in this trying time for Danny and his wife, that you generously send them some financial support to help them through the struggles that they are facing. REGIONAL CHAMPIONS: YOUR EMBRY-RIDDLE EAGLES FLIGHT TEAM SOARS TO THE TOP! 🦅 After an unfortunate delay of the 2024 NIFA SAFECON Region IX Regional Flight Competition, the team spent the week in LaGrange, Georgia, fighting in a head-to-head competition with other flight schools in the southeast region of the country. We had a blast practicing, competing, and spending time in the area. Congrats to all of those who competed and those who took home some glass! The Eagles Flight Team

The Eagles Flight Team is Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s premiere flight competition team. We participate in regional and national competitions in both flight and ground events as part of the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA).

Our flight events consist of precision landings, navigation, crew resource management, and more. Our ground events consist of cross country flight planning, fast-paced manual flight computer calculations, recognizing and identifying aircraft from around the world, pre-flight inspection, and many others. These are examples of the many events in which our members have the opportunity to practice and compete against other colleges and universities from around the country.
