We are delighted to announce that Tugby Church of England Primary School has been awarded the Platinum School Games Mark!
This is the highest award available through the School Games programme and recognises our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality PE, school sport and physical activity opportunities for all pupils.
Achieving Platinum status is a huge accomplishment and reflects many years of dedication, teamwork and enthusiasm. It celebrates not only sporting success but also our commitment to inclusion, participation, leadership, personal development and promoting healthy, active lifestyles for all children.
This award would not have been possible without the support of so many people. A huge thank you to our staff, parents, volunteers and governors who have supported sporting opportunities over the years, often giving up their time to transport, coach, encourage and cheer on our pupils. Most importantly, thank you to the children whose enthusiasm, determination, teamwork and willingness to get involved make Tugby such a special place.
Whether representing the school at competitions, taking part in clubs, leading activities for younger pupils or simply embracing the joy of being active, every child has played a part in this achievement.
We are incredibly proud of this recognition and look forward to continuing to inspire the next generation of active, confident and resilient learners.
Many congratulations to Tugby C of E Primary School for achieving their Platinum school games Mark award
Well done to all staff at the school

We’d love to share a little snapshot of the exciting learning opportunities our EYFS children have been enjoying this week!
Through our book of the week, Mr Wolf’s Pancakes, children have been building their literacy skills by listening to the story, talking about what happens, retelling events, and sharing their own ideas through storytelling.
Children have also been busy putting their phonics skills into action by writing simple pancake-making instructions, taking part in reading activities, and enjoying matching and word games.
Alongside this, they’ve been developing important hand strength and control through cutting, drawing, mark making, and craft activities, while exploring colour, texture, and different materials through creative art and design.

Tomorrow morning, Tugby pupils will be taking part in our Rainbows Festive Fun Run.
We’re joining with other schools across the Rise MAT as we aim to “travel” all the way from Rainbows Hospice in Loughborough to Lapland – an incredible 2,575 miles together!
Last year, Rise schools raised an amazing £8,793.23 for Rainbows Children’s Hospice, and we’re proud to be taking part again for this wonderful cause.
If you’re able to sponsor the children, donations can be made using the QR code, via our JustGiving page, or by sending cash in a named envelope to the school office. There is absolutely no expectation to donate – every bit of support, cheering, and festive spirit means a lot.
We can’t wait!

Last Monday, Year 5/6 had a fantastic trip to meet author SF Said as part of The Children’s Bookshow. The Children’s Bookshow is a charity that inspires children with a love of reading through theatre performances, digital events and in-school workshops led by some of the very best authors and illustrators from around the world.
It was a wonderful experience for the class, and they came away feeling inspired and excited about reading and storytelling. All of the children received a copy of his book Tyger, which many of them are already enjoying reading back at school.
A brilliant opportunity and a memorable day for everyone!
