Kindergarten Screening – March 14, 2026

Kindergarten Screening will be held Saturday, March 14, beginning at 8:30 AM. Appointments are first come, first serve and will be scheduled until 1:00 PM.

Who can attend?
All students who are Kindergarten-eligible for the 2026–2027 school year (Age 5 BEFORE August 1st, 2026) are welcome to sign up.

📝 Important steps to sign up:
Call the Elementary Office to schedule your appointment
Pick up the required paperwork from the Elementary Office
Complete and return the paperwork–this is important and ensures the day of screening runs efficiently.
We need proof of residency (if no siblings are in our district already), birth certificate, and shot records

⚠️ Please note: This is the ONLY day Kindergarten Screening will be offered.

Preschool Screening – Important Information

Good morning, Preschool families! Before we head into break, we want to share some information regarding Preschool Screening.

Due to timeline conflicts, we have decided to separate Preschool and Kindergarten screening days. We will be conducting Preschool screenings on ONE date only: Saturday, February 7th. This screening is for our 3- and 4-year-old friends only who are NOT Kindergarten-eligible for the 2026–2027 school year.

If you forget to schedule or have a conflict on that date, we will do our best to accommodate you; however, February 7th is the only date we are planning to offer screenings for this age group.

We will start scheduling these screenings when we get back from Winter Break. Please call the Elementary Office at that time. We will only have morning time slots available at this time.

Kindergarten-eligible students (going into Kindergarten for the 26/27 school year) will be screened on a separate date in March, and more information will be shared soon.

Due to staff absences, we will NOT have Book Club this week! We will try again next week!

Attention all ECSE Parents: I am sorry to have to do this, but we are going to cancel Book Club and Kindergarten Readiness Night tonight. We will be back to Book Club next week and we will plan for our December Kindergarten Readiness Night!

If your child normally stays for Book Club, they will do their normal after school routine. If this has changed for any reason, please call the school and let us know!

ECSE Moonlight School is tomorrow night (Thursday) from 4:30-6! We will see you there! The theme is FALL!

Please Remember, ECSE WILL be in session on Monday, but will NOT be in session on Friday, October 3rd due to an early out for Homecoming.

We also have our upcoming Kindergarten Readiness Night on October 2nd @ 5:30. Information below...

💰 Every family that fills out and turns in a Free and Reduced Lunch Form will receive $25.00 in Memphis Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce Bucks.

💴 All you have to do is fill out the FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH FORM and your family will receive $25.00 in Chamber Bucks. Please spread the word and get your form filled out and turned in.

🗞️ Families are encouraged to fill out a free and reduced lunch application at back to school registration. Not only does this benefit individual families if you qualify but it also helps the school district in a variety of ways in terms of funding for public education.

ℹ️ Forms will be available at the Elementary Back to School BBQ on Thursday, August 15 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Forms will also be available in the elementary and high school office.

When?: May 14th @ 5:30 P.M.
Where?: Elementary Gymnasium
Who?: Those Pre-Kers that will be moving on to Kindergarten for the 25/26 school year.

Please feel free to dress them in whatever they are comfortable in. We will conclude with cookies. The program will take approximately 5-10 minutes, and we will promptly start at 5:30.

Please be reminded our ONLY screening day is this Saturday, March 15th. We only have one or two time slots left, so if you need to make an apt., please give us a call so we can get you scheduled. We may have to open up more time slots, but we would like to know today if we need to do that. With that being said, if you had something come up and you know you can't make it, please let us know ASAP so we can fill your spot.

The date is set for Saturday, March 15th and it is for children ages 3-5 and those entering Kindergarten for the 25/26 school year. We will be running it very similar to years past, with three entrances. When you call to reserve a spot, you will be given an entrance for your child and can drop them off at the given entrance the day of the screening.

At the end of the DIAL screening, there will be someone available to go over your child’s screening with you. This will probably take, roughly, another 5-10 minutes.

You will need to call the Elementary Office to sign your child up for a time that works for you. Paperwork will need to be picked up and brought back prior to screening day. This makes the flow of screening day much faster. You may pick up all paperwork in the Elementary Office. At that time, if we do not have a copy of them already, we will be happy to copy your child’s birth certificate and immunization records. For those entering Kindergarten, we will also need proof of residency.

This is the ONLY screening day we are able to provide and it is integral that the Kindergartners be screened prior to beginning school. It is first come, first serve, so make sure to call and reserve a time that works for you.
