‎SCHOOL MANAGEMENT ORIENTED NEW LEARNERS

‎Lao Tzu once said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
‎
‎With this in mind, our school management welcomed our newly enrolled learners through a deliberately planned orientation programme held today. The programme marked an important first step in their journey with us, as the school management clearly explained our school’s mission, vision, core values, behavioural standards, academic expectations, and other important aspects of school life that are important for them.
‎
‎Shortly after the orientation, the learners were taken on a guided tour of our school facilities and some offices, including the ICT laboratory, library, science laboratory, and other key areas of the school.
‎
‎It was more than just an introduction to the school. It was a purposeful beginning, equipping our new learners with the knowledge, understanding, and sense of belonging they need as they embark on this new chapter of their educational journey.
‎
‎Once again, you are heartily welcome to our school. We are delighted to have you join the Cambridge International School family.

‎Today, our Upper Primary learners set foot in our school ICT lab, where they were introduced to the basics of typing under the instruction of our ICT instructor, Mr. Michael, laying the foundation for more advanced technological skills.
‎
‎We are building learners who will become technologically skilled, innovative, and ready to shape the future. This is the purpose of their ICT classes: to equip them with the digital skills they need for tomorrow.
‎
‎Today’s learners could become tomorrow’s technology giants, creating solutions that could impact the world, just as Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and Elon Musk have done.
‎
‎The future is already taking shape!

‎SPEAK IT RIGHT: BUILDING CONFIDENT VOICES AT ASSEMBLY

‎A word may be small, but saying it correctly can make a world of difference.
‎
‎During our Assembly this morning, our primary learners took part in an engaging pronunciation session, learning how to produce the right sounds, articulate words clearly, and speak with greater confidence under the tutelage of our English Educator, Mrs .Tasie
‎
‎From words such as resilient, thing, south, anthem, mother, and rhythm, among many others, our learners practised pronunciation and discovered the importance of getting each sound right.
‎
‎We are nurturing learners who speak with clarity, confidence, and eloquence, developing voices that can command respect, like those of Professor P. L. O. Lumumba, Trevor Noah, Wole Soyinka, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
‎
‎One sound at a time, we are building confident voices.

‎ADVENTURE TIME: OUR LEARNERS DISCOVERED THE UNKNOWN TODAY!
‎
‎Before the sun came up today, our primary learners gathered expectantly like little explorers waiting for a map to unfold, ready to discover something new.
‎
‎Adventure Time is structured to take our learners beyond the familiar, giving them opportunities to discover the unknown, learn, relearn, and deepen their understanding through engaging and meaningful experiences.
‎
‎Today, their curiosity led the way as they explored “A Doctor” from a fresh perspective. Rather than simply learning that a doctor is someone who treats sick people, our learners were introduced to the different roles doctors play, the tools they use, the places they work, and how they care for the health and well-being of others.
‎
‎Through engaging activities under the guidance of our Anchor Educator, Mr Ese, they learnt in a new and exciting way, turning a familiar topic into an opportunity for deeper discovery.
‎
‎Who knows? Today’s adventure may have planted a seed in the heart of a future doctor, surgeon, paediatrician, dentist, pharmacist, nurse, medical laboratory scientist, or another healthcare professional among our learners.
‎
‎Today’s experience may be the beginning of a dream that grows into a profession that saves lives and makes a difference.
‎
‎We do not just teach our learners what to know; we help them discover what they can become.

‎The excitement was unmistakable! Today, our school was permeated with joy as we welcomed our returning learners and newly enrolled learners back to school. We are delighted to see our learners rekindle their bonds with their friends and educators, ready for another transformative term of learning and growth.

‎CIS EDUCATORS GET FUTURE-READY AS SCHOOL HOSTS TRAINING ON QUALITY TEACHING IN THE TECHNOLOGY ERA
‎
‎Just as a soldier sharpens his skills through rigorous training before stepping onto the battlefield, our educators were equipped and empowered today to deliver even better learning experiences in the forthcoming term. After all, you cannot give what you do not have, and the quality of what you give is often determined by the depth of what you know.
‎
‎While addressing the educators, one of our Directors aptly stated:
‎“We cannot prepare children for tomorrow using only the methods of yesterday.”
‎
‎The message was clear: teaching today goes beyond helping learners memorise information and pass examinations. Our Directors encouraged educators to prepare learners to think critically, ask meaningful questions, communicate, collaborate, create, use technology purposefully, and solve real-life problems.
‎
‎The training also emphasised that technology should be purposeful, not a distraction or simply an electronic textbook. It should help learners research, watch demonstrations, investigate, collaborate, solve problems, create projects, practise, receive feedback, and extend their learning beyond the textbook.
‎
‎Our Directors also impressed upon educators that great learning does not happen accidentally; it must be intentionally planned. A quality lesson plan should include clear aims, SMART objectives, engaging activities, checks for understanding, assessment, differentiation, and reflection, with every component working together.
‎
‎For us as a school, this training means one important thing for every parent: your child is not coming to school next term simply to receive information; your child is coming to learn how to think, create, collaborate, and apply knowledge to the real world.
‎
‎Today’s training was not solely about preparing for another term; it was about sharpening the minds, enriching the knowledge, and refining the methods of those entrusted with shaping the next generation.
