'व्हॉट्सअॅप' या अतिशय लोकप्रिय मोबाईल मेसेजिंग अॅपला टक्कर देण्यासाठी आता गूगल कंपनीही सरसावली आहे. 'व्हॉटसअॅप' विकत घेण्याच्या शर्यतीत फेसबुकने पछाडल्यानंतर गूगल आपलं नवं मेसेजिंग अॅप लॉन्च करण्याच्या तयारीत आहे.

गूगल भारतासह काही देशांमध्ये या अॅपची टेस्टिंग करणार आहे. गूगल मेसेंजरही व्हॉट्सअॅपसारखंच मोबाईल नंबरशी निगडीत असेल. हे अॅप प्राथमिक अवस्थेत असून 2015 मध्ये गूगल मेसेंजर लॉन्च होणार असल्याचं कळतं.

विशेष म्हणजे गूगल मेसेंजरसाठी युझर्सना कोणतीही रक्कम मोजावी लागणार नाही. मात्र व्हॉट्सअॅप एका वर्षानंतर दरसाल 53 रुपये दर आकारतं. तसंच या अॅपमध्ये भारतीय भाषांना सपोर्ट करणारी सिस्टम आणि व्हॉईस टू टेक्स्ट मेसेजिंगही सुविधा देण्याचा कंपनीचा विचार आहे.

दरम्यान, व्हॉट्सअॅप खरेदी करण्यासाठी गूगलने 10 अब्ज डॉलर म्हणजे सुमारे 60,000 कोटी रुपयांची ऑफर दिली होती. पण फेसबुकने व्हॉट्सअॅप तब्बल 1.20 लाख कोटी रुपयांमध्ये खरेदी केलं होतं.
