Blazing into ✨30✨

As I celebrate stepping into a new decade, I wanted to re-introduce myself to those who may not know me 🥰

Kia ora, konnichiwa and hi! I'm Kaya, born in Aotearoa, NZ, and currently based in Vancouver, BC, after following cannabis and plant medicines halfway across the world.

I'm passionate about plant medicine because it's helped me physically, mentally and spiritually, and I've seen it positively change the lives of those around me. With education, we break down stigma, and open conversations intrigue the canna-curious to sniff a little further.

A host of the podcast with my sister 🎙 we chat about the flower, starting at the basics. So join me in learning and experimenting with the power of plant medicines, and share your journey with me too!

For everyone who's shown and continues to share their love, knowledge and support on this road, thank you for making it so fun 🙏💚

Happy Virgo season ✨

This cold, slightly bubbly 3mg 1:1 CBD/THC honey, lemon, ginger chamomile tea was sooo delicious to sip on while walking down graffiti alley in Toronto.

It’s light, citrusy, gingery and not overly sweet, which is perfect for me. Those who drink carbonated bevs might not enjoy the subtle fizz of this (and many other infused sodas) but I find regular pop too fizzy, so I really enjoyed it.

It’s a nice low and balanced dose that’s relaxing, easing the tension without weighing me down in the body or slowing my mind too much.

On the eve of 4/20, I’m grateful to be living in a country with legal cannabis. I appreciate that I can walk into a store and purchase it, I love smelling cannabis in the streets much more than I would back home, and the wider acceptance of the plant compared to my home country of Aotearoa NZ.

The legal system is far from perfect and social justice, expungements, diversity within the industry (in both medical in NZ and globally) and better medical access can’t be forgotten, but I don’t take for granted that I can walk into a store and buy infused chocolates, v**e cartridges, live resins and more.

I’m looking forward to all the innovation yet to come this year, and appreciate the heavy lifting of those who have made this all possible. Thank you to everyone who continue to advocate for this plant, wherever you are 💚 happy 4/20 y’all, stay blazed 🍃✨

Pictured is the strawberry milkshake chocolate. Texture was super smooth and melted easily with the flavour of a sweet, slightly tangy strawberry, and the creaminess of a milkshake. There was a definite undertone of bitterness from the distillate, with the relaxation coming in around 35-45mins.

The tightness in my muscles eased a little and my eyes felt heavier, with an overall balanced effect. I’m a huge fan of 1:1 because my tolerance is still getting used to BC 🍃 side effects were a dry throat and a great sleep after 😴

🛫🇳🇿🔜🇨🇦🛬

On my way back to Canada for the , which I’ve been lucky enough to play a small role in and excited to join the team on the ground again 🥳

I can’t wait for future adventures, catching up with friends, sesh’s with Bellas and all the developments in cannabis since I’ve been away.

Aotearoa NZ is always home and I want to thank everyone who made my time back here such a blast. With all the flowers, flavours and aromas I enjoyed, the local talent, passion and skill was so awesome to see. needs to be a reality here too, with everyone doing the hard work showcasing their talents.

I care about people and their quality of life with plant medicines, having an inclusive and diverse industry that brings in those who’ve been doing this for decades, along with access to affordable, quality flower and products, for everyone who needs or wants it.

and I are still recording for and will continue as we juggle work schedules and time zones, so stay tuned for updates there too 🥰💚

With aroha till next summer, またね (mata nē) Aotearoa NZ, and see you soon, BC 🥳

A stroll along the beach with these 5mg 1:1 THC/CBD gummies in citrus yuzu flavour was perfect to drift into the afternoon 🏝 it definitely helped me chill and enjoy the ocean breeze 🌬

The texture had a sugary crunch, followed by a soft, sticky gummy-ness, which I like. I’m not a huge fan of super hard gummies that take lots of effort to chew, so I’m glad it wasn’t like that 🍬

The flavour had a subtle citrus coming through 🍊 though I probably wouldn’t call it yuzu specifically. I’d love to try the other flavours as well 🥭🍓🍉 Overall it was enjoyable and the effects were light on the body (as it’s pretty low dose) and toned down the mind - a perfect pairing with a long walk and chats with the sis 💚

Check out the latest episodes of podcast too! We’re two eps away from wrapping up season one and would love your thoughts, suggestions and feedback 🎙

I enjoyed a tasty cup of chocolate rooibos tea with 10mg THC and 5mg CBD by , which is so cool cause we got to see this concept a few years ago and finally got to try it!

Teas are my beverage of choice and I regularly enjoy rooibos, so this was such a treat 🥰 The chocolate aromas made it rich and though I could taste a slight hint of bitterness from the cannabis infused sugar, it didn’t bother me at all. I wish the tea drawer was stocked with these 😭

The balance of THC and CBD is perfect, and I enjoy the effects of them combined as I feel more balanced, relaxed and at ease. It’s enough to take the edge off, but not takeoff 🚀 which is what I needed before playing Catan. (I still lost tho 😅)

This is the last of the cozy nights for us as the Southern Hemisphere heads into summer☀️ and wishing our friends in the north a stellar snow season this winter ❄️

Also, check out the latest episodes of podcast! We’re 4 eps deep with a great lineup of guests 🎙

Kanpai and cheers! Pictured is the canna beer I had the opportunity to try. I don’t drink alcohol so the taste of beer is not something I’m accustomed too, but it was delicious! It’s a 1:1 “beer” with 5mg THC and CBD. It had a light, beer-y flavour and I could barely taste any 🌿 the effects creeped in around 20 mins after my first sip, and had me uplifted, relaxed and… mello 😅

Today, I celebrate the release of the first podcast episode. Putting it out into the world was so scary for me to do, but I’m excited for what’s ahead as I continue to learn and grow 🌱

Bellas Who Blaze is a space created to share stories of (mainly) womxn who integrate cannabis into their well-being and lifestyle. We can often feel alone, especially in prohibition countries and we’re here to share a different perspective on the plant. If you take a moment to listen, thank you! I’d love to hear your feedback 🌸

A huge shout-out and gratitude to everyone who continues to share their encouragement and support - your energy is appreciated 🙏🏽💚 and I love sharing our canna-journey together 💨🍃

I constantly dream of a future where cannabis is treated less as the dangerous drug, and more a plant that can help heal us and our planet. I want to see an environment where products like this and more are accessible and affordable in Aotearoa NZ and around the world 🌎 more change is needed, but I also appreciate how far we’ve come.

That was a long one… Happy blazing! 🌸🥳

Happy 420 everyone! A little late for NZ and a tad early for the west coast 🔥 it’s always 420 somewhere 🥰

As we spark up, puff 🔥 and enjoy how far cannabis has come, we can’t forget those whose livelihoods have been affected because of prohibition, and those who continue to risk theirs to provide medicine 🙏🏽

Support expungements of records where it’s legal, and decriminalization/legalization where it’s not. Link in bio to sign a few petitions (one closes May 1).

Feeling very blessed to be a part of a growing industry and connecting with incredibly talented, passionate advocates all over 🌎

A throwback to Van, pictured is a close up of Moby Dick - notes were citrus, sweet and a little gassy with an uplifted, energized and focused buzz 🐳

Happy blazing! 🌸🌱💕💨

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a terpene Tuesday and today’s feature is Linalool! Often linked to the aroma of lavender, this terpene is said to have a range or benefits such as being an anti-depressant, sleep aid, anti-inflammatory and aids pain relief. It’s being researched for its impact on cognitive function for those with Alzheimer’s too, which I hope shows promising results 🧠✨

The aroma of linalool is floral, citrusy and spicy and can be found in other plants such as lavender, mint, birch, and rosewood.

Well known Linalool-dominant cultivars include Amnesia haze, LA Confidential, Lavender and Pink Kush 🌸

Happy blazing! 💨🌱🌸

H**p and cannabis has long been a part of human history, particularly within ancient cultures. I love coming across it when I least expect it, like this past weekend while eating udon!

Shichi-mi is a common spice blend in Japan added to many dishes as a finishing touch. It’s made with a blend of seven (shichi) ingredients including chilli, sanshō (Japanese pepper), yuzu or orange peel, white and black sesame seeds, h**p seed, ginger, nori (seaw**d) and poppy seed. I got excited when I saw the leaf on the tin, but sadly it’s not infused 😅

This spice blend dates back at least to the 17th century, when it was made by herb dealers in Edo (now Tokyo). H**p has a long history in Japanese culture and I love learning more about how it was used, and is still used to this day.
