Decided to take a break from finals and give back to the Salem community! Grilled over 250 burgers for people in need and spent quality time getting to know more about the life's of some great people! Thank you brother Ben Hanks for organizing a great event!

Brother Conner Mertens on a recent trip he took to Sigma Chi international headquarters.
"Sigma Chi leadership hosted a summit including representatives from other Greek organizations, non-affiliated university administration from across the country, and members of our own organization. The goal was a very candid and open dialogue between all parties on the criticisms of our organization and what we can do to improve. There was a lot of praise thrown our way but also a many issues that we can do better; and are being worked on. I personally went and advised and lead discussions on principles surrounding the Scobey Initiative. This initiative's aim is to enhance our diversity and acceptance within our fraternity of different identities, temperaments, talents and convictions. We worked on strategic planning to make our fraternity more inclusive to gay, bisexual and trans Sigma Chi's. In addition, we discussed su***de prevention strategies to increase effectivity of the already incredible prevention services our international organization offers. It was an incredibly productive weekend, where every representative entity walked away agreeing that progress was made this week on a wide-range of issues"
