How is your body feeling today? Check in for a few moments and close your eyes to scan through each body part. If something feels stiff, stretch it out. But don't forget to come back and finish the rest!

Belly breathing, a calming breath practice... place your hands, stuffed animals, a book, anything to bring your attention to your breath in your belly. You are experiencing the sensation of your diaphragm moving, a breathing muscle, expanding down to make room for your precious lungs.
A grounding exercise using the senses to come into the present moment. A great way to relieve stress and anxiety for a few moments. Try it out! I use this frequently in my kids yoga classes as a way to drop into class or wrap up class in a mindful way.

Scribble draw! Can you pause for 5-minutes? I bet you can and I promise you won't ever regret it. Grab any writing utensil and a scrap piece of paper or post-it. Put the pen onto the paper and just let it roll around. Do this until you have most of your paper covered in scribble. Now color in a couple of shapes! You may see pictures of fish, the sun or socks in your drawing. 🐟☀️🧦
When class is in a real yoga studio, prop forts are possible. They had a really fun time with this one!
Scribble drawings! I’m loving how well these turned out.

Do you have 5 minutes? I bet you do. Try this and tell me how it goes~ Begin to notice the breath for a moment or two, and you'll feel very present. Thoughts will come into the mind, as they typically do, but when you notice that you're no longer focused on the breath, label the thoughts, "thinking." This is known as mindfulness meditation or noting.
Did you have a second of clear mind?
