Teacher Grant Story: Remy Chan

After 19 years of teaching in CUSD, Kindergarten teacher Remy Chan knows young learners thrive when they can move, explore, create, and collaborate. With a CEEF Teacher Grant, Remy added hands-on STEAM materials, building challenge and literacy activities to her classroom.

The result? More creativity, confidence, and collaboration.

Teachers are constantly adapting to meet the needs of today’s learners, but traditional school funding doesn’t always stretch far enough to provide innovative, hands-on resources.

That’s where our community can make a difference.

Your support helps CEEF provide resources beyond what district funding alone can offer. Investing in every CUSD Student.

Books over screen time?

For 20 years, 6th-grade teacher Angie McCulloch has been creating engaging learning experiences for students at Cupertino Middle School.

With her CEEF Teacher Grant, Angie purchased a diverse collection of fiction, nonfiction, and graphic novels to give students more choices and spark a love of reading.

And the impact is easy to see: students are excited to get to class and be the first to grab a new book!

Teacher Grant Highlight: Charron Perry-Barney

After 28 years in Cupertino USD, Charron knows that helping students find the right books can make all the difference.

With her CEEF Teacher Grant, she purchased high-interest, accessible books for English Learners in the upper grades, along with picture books to support grammar instruction.

Welcoming CUSD’s Newest Families

Last night, CEEF Board members Sanjay and Brian joined CUSD’s TK Welcome Meeting to connect with families and share how our community works together to support educational opportunities for every CUSD student.

CUSD Deputy Superintendent Allison Liner welcomed families and shared an introduction to CUSD, including the Portrait of a Learner competencies that help shape the educational experience and support the development of the whole child.

Brian also introduced families to CEEF and shared how fundraising support helps complement traditional state funding and provides additional resources that strengthen instructional opportunities across CUSD schools.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to welcome these new families to the CUSD community and to share how, together, we can make a difference for every CUSD student.
