ANATS Victoria is excited to announce that entries are now open for OWLS AWARD 2026 : OLDER PEOPLE WHO LOVE SINGING (OWLS) SCHOLARSHIP 2026

The OWLS Scholarship is worth $1000 and aims to assist the journey of an enthusiastic mature-aged singer. It is open to all Victorian residents 32 years and older. Singers with any genre and level of experience may apply, but the applicant must not have been a professional singer or voice teacher.

The Scholarship money must be spent and acquitted on lessons/workshops/courses pertaining to singing (e.g.,voice lessons, languages, body-awareness techniques).

Applications close on Sunday 5th July 2026.

"Preparing for Classical Singing Competitions and Auditions" with Roxane Hislop

This webinar will offer a comprehensive overview of the requirements for audition and offer some guidance for preparing for classical singing competitions at the national and international level, led by esteemed singer and educator, Roxane Hislop. The webinar will include a presentation followed by a workshop of video auditions, followed by a question and answer session.

Competitions are an essential element of building a professional career for young classical singers. These events are lucrative and competitive and can offer significant financial and other benefits including overseas travel and coaching. Each competition is different, with different expectations and requirements. Many competitions now require self-taped audition in the first round, or an interview prior to the final event. Some repertoire may be appropriate for one event, but not another.

- Opening an application
- CV’s
- Video application
- What to wear
- Audition /competition etiquette
