58 years ago today - A United Arab Airlines (now EgyptAir) with 24 Scouts - official Boy Scouts of the Philippines delegation to the 11th World Scout Jamboree - on board crashed near Santa Cruz, India on their way to Greece and killed all of its passengers.

On 27 July 1988, then President Corazon C. Aquino declared July 28 of every year as BOY SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES MEMORIAL DAY.
