That's Daniel Heidkamp. One of the most compelling voices in contemporary American painting and the artist inspiring 1,800 teen artists across One River Schools right now.

Not 1,800 copies of his work. 1,800 original interpretations of a place that matters to them. Painted, drawn, animated, designed. Every one of them made by a teenager who showed up and did the work... who sat in their local studio and made stuff.

That's the whole thing, really. You sit down. You make something. You do it again. You grow.

This summer, eight of those artists will win a private studio experience with Daniel in Brooklyn. The rest will be part of something that's never existed before: the largest teen art exhibition in the United States.

Exhibitions are open now across 15 One River Studios: from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to Long Island, Texas, Indiana, and Oregon.

How to Build Your Perfect Full Day of Creativity at One River This Summer:

Build your day:
• Morning session: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
• Pack a nut-free lunch from home to eat from 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM
• Afternoon session: 12:30 – 3:00 PM
• Late afternoon (Teens Grades 6-12): 3:30 – 6:00 PM
• Early Drop-Off starting at 8:45 AM: $25 per camp, sign-up required

Choose from:
• 100+ weekly themes
• Studio Art & Design
• Kids, Teens & Pre-College programs
• Sessions run Monday through Friday, weekly

Good to know:
• Teens with a Permission to Leave form on file may leave campus for lunch

Meet Lisa.

She auditioned for an advanced art class in high school and got in. Then life happened, and she didn't pick up a brush again for decades.

In 2018, she walked into One River. She hasn't stopped creating since.

"I knew I always wanted to get back into art. When I read the description, this looked like the right place to be."

Since then she's been moving through collage, painting, beading, sewing; each project building on the last, each Tuesday night ending on a high.

Then one Tuesday, her husband died suddenly.

"I thought — where is the place I can go where I feel safe? I told my instructor what happened. We cried. Then I went back in the room and made some art."
