香港大學民意研究計劃 (The Public Opinion Programme, The University of Hong Kong)

問：為什麼香港民研在比較歷任特首和港督，在上任時的民望數字時，採用單次調查的數字，而非首個月的平均數字？ 答：在民研最新發放的新聞稿以及社交媒體的推文中，民研比較了特首李家超和所有前特首以及彭定康的第一次民望評分，用意是開局一刻與開局一刻的比較。如果是使用多次調查的平均分，則可能把「開局」的概念模糊化。況且，讀者在民研的網頁上，可以隨意選擇按次評分、按月平均評分、或者半年總結評分，各取所需。需要說明，以往多個特首在上任之前，民研便已進行民望調查，但今年只有一個候選人，上任前又沒有廣泛的民間互動，所以民研亦沒有進行候任特首民望調查，這是民意研究上的損失。

香港大學民意研究計劃已於2019年6月30日停止運作。民研計劃總監鍾庭耀博士已成立新的香港民意研究所 https://www.pori.hk ，以延續民研計劃的使命。
