The team spent the weekend competing at the Wizarding West tournament at Bentonville West High School.

This group worked hard and supported each other all weekend and even brought home some hardware to show off! What a great weekend for RHS Speech and Debate!

As we wrap up our time at ACTAA Arkansas Student Congress, we would like to give special recognition to this group of seniors:
Madeline Clements, Noah Beaver, and Mallory Cloud

These students have competed as delegates in Student Congress for all three years they have been a part of the RHS Speech and Debate Team.

We are so proud of the growth they have shown in those three years. They have been committed to learning the legislative process and carrying it out with respect and reverence.

While we are sad that this is their last Student Congress with us, we are thankful for the lessons they have learned and passed on to their underclassmen, and we are excited to see the impact they have on the future!

ACTAA Student Congress is underway and our delegates are working hard debating bills at the Arkansas State Capitol!

Today we had a wonderful visit from State Senator Breanne Davis! We are so thankful she was able to stop by and see our kids in action. They were so excited to get to debate in front of actual state legislators!

Calling all alumni, parents, and community members!!

The Russellville Speech and Debate team is in need of volunteers, judges, and donations for our tournament October 24-25. Volunteers don’t have to work the entire tournament, there are shifts. Any of your time is greatly appreciated! No experience is necessary to judge (there is a short judging module that will get you trained and ready to go). Anyone who has graduated high school can be a judge!

Before we recap our amazing trip to Iowa, we want to take a moment to highlight our banquet award recipients!

What makes these awards so meaningful is that they’re voted on by teammates — the people who see each other every day, through the wins, challenges, and everything in between.
