A group of people

Group of people can be called by many names that are:

1. Cluster is a name that people use for others in mass numbers.

2. Squad is a term used for missions in military and survival.

3. Party can mean people doing a certain thing or eating out.

4. Circle can mean a group that is very close to you.

5. Team can mean when people perform a certain task together to achieve an objective.

6. Flock is a name that people use for students in exhibitions or any other place(for example a flock of students went to zoo).

IELTS Speaking Vocabulary - Music

♦️music genre: a distinct type of music.
♦️pop music: a genre of popular music.
♦️catchy tune: a tune or a song that's easy to remember and that you enjoy singing.
♦️elevator music: music that is played in places like supermarket or family restaurant.
♦️live music: music performance in front of an audience.
♦️music to one's ears: something (often information) very pleasant and enjoyable to someone.
♦️opera: a kind of performance in which actors sing during their play with music performed by an orchestra.
♦️tone deaf: not able to discern the notes properly.
♦️tuneful: pleasant and melodious music or sound.

The Most Useful Idioms and their Meanings

Call it a day
Meaning: To declare the end of a task

Example: I’m tired. Let’s call it a day.

Can’t judge a book by its cover
Meaning: Cannot judge something primarily on appearance

Example: This report may look dull, but don’t judge a book by its cover

Catnap
Meaning: To have a short, light sleep, a doze

Example: I’m really tired. I need a catnap right now!

Couch potato
Meaning: A lazy person

Example: The only thing you do all day is watching TV. You’ve become a real couch potato, haven’t you?

Cry over spilled milk
Meaning: When you complain about a loss from the past

Example: Yes, we made a mistake, but there’s no point in crying over spilled milk
