Celebrating AZADI KA MAHOTSAV
75 Years of Independence

Principal Mam, staff members and students of Jammu Public Hr. Sec. School, Sainik Colony Jammu participated in a National Flag rally organised as a part of the Har Ghar Tiranga programme, called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in Sainik Colony. We gave small Indian National Flags to the kids and also made them aware of its significance.
The event was conducted in the district as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.

Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence.
The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and promote awareness about the tri-colour.

To celebrate this Raksha Bandhan, We the children at Jammu Public School, Sainik Colony celebrated by having our Rakhi Making Competition on the 10th of August.

kite making and rakhi making competition held in our school. Students participate with great enthusiasm. Boys make kites and girls make rakhi.

On the full moon day (Purnima) of Shravan or Sawan month, Raksha Bandan is celebrated. On this day, the sisters tie Rakhi on their brother's wrists and wish them a long, prosperous and happy life. In return, the brothers promise to protect their sisters throughout their life.

Making a kite is an art and flying it is a fine art. Kite-makers inherited and learnt the art of making kites from their ancestors passed it on to their future generations.

kite flying is an important part of celebrations on Raksha Bandhan and Shri Krishna Janmashthami.

Speech on "History Of Indian National Flag"
By the students of our school.

भारतीय राष्ट्रिय ध्वज हमारी स्वाधीनता का प्रतीक है. देश में अपना ध्वज लहराने का मतलब है कि वो देश आजाद है. आजादी के बाद पहले प्रधानमंत्री जवाहरलाल नेहरु ने कहा था ‘राष्ट्रीय ध्वज सिर्फ हमारी स्वतंत्रता नहीं है, बल्कि ये देश की समस्त जनता की स्वतंत्रता का प्रतीक है.’ भारतीय लॉ के अनुसार राष्ट्रीय ध्वज खादी के कपड़े का होना चाहिए. शुरुआत में राष्ट्रीय ध्वज का इस्तेमाल आम नागरिकों द्वारा सिर्फ राष्ट्रीय दिवस जैसे स्वतंत्रता दिवस व गणतन्त्र दिवस को ही होता था, बाकि के दिनों में वे उसको नहीं फेहरा सकते थे. लेकिन कुछ समय के बाद यूनियन कैबिनेट ने इसमें बदलाव किया और आम नागरिकों द्वारा इसके उपयोग को शुरू कर दिया गया.
