I’m proud to announce that I am running for re-election to the Sioux Falls School Board.

Serving our community during my previous terms has been an incredible honor. As a retired teacher and coach, I’ve spent my life in classrooms, working directly with students, athletes, and alongside dedicated educators. My experiences in the classroom and as a coach continue to guide my decisions. I have enjoyed staying closely connected to teachers, schools, and seeing the impact our schools in the Sioux Falls School District have on students and their families.

If re-elected, I will remain focused on what matters most—putting students first. Every child deserves a safe, supportive learning environment and the opportunity to succeed. Just as importantly, our teachers deserve to feel valued, that they are supported, and equipped with the tools they need.

We’ve made meaningful progress, but there is still more to do. I am committed to listening, collaborating, and working hard to ensure our schools continue to help students grow as readers, writers, and problem solvers.

I would be honored to have your support. Please share this post to get the word out!

I have enjoyed my time on the Sioux Falls School Board over the last three years and hope to continue serving the students, teachers, and staff in the Sioux Falls District. Here are examples of things we as a board have implemented during my time on the school board.

1. A multi-tiered system of supports to promote positive behavior and improve student success.
2. Increased methods for receiving stakeholder feedback with community engagement sessions, Lets Talk section of our district website, and other customer service channels.
3. Ground has been broken on the new west side elementary school to prevent classroom over-crowding.
4. Strengthened community partnerships to better serve students and families after school.
5. Effective use of ESSER funds. We are now determining which programs work and will continue to be a part of the budget.
6. Increased teacher salaries.
7. Increased substitute teacher pay.

I am thankful for the support of the community and hope you will all get out to vote on April 9th, 2024. If re-elected I will continue my efforts to put students first.
