Here some basic question and ans about Thermodynamics:-
1)What is Thermodynamics?
Ans:- Thermodynamics is the branch of physical science that deals with the relations between heat and other forms of energy (such as mechanical, electrical, or chemical energy), and, by extension, of the relationships between all forms of energy.
👉Thermodynamics system is a define area or space which transfer of mass and energy or both take place.
2)What is Applications of Thermodynamics?
Ans:- The application of thermodynamics:-
👉Jet engines.
👉Spark-ignition engines.
👉Fossil-fueled steam power plants.
👉All the refrigerators.
👉Deep freezers.
👉Industrial refrigeration systems.
👉All types of air-conditioning systems.
👉Heat pumps.
3)What is Close System (Control mass)?
Ans: There is no mass transfer but energy transfer across the system boundaries of a Thermodynamics system.
Example: Compression and expansion stroke of an Internal Combustion engine.
4)What is Open System (Control volume)?
Ans:- Both mass and energy transfer across the system boundaries of a Thermodynamics system.
Example: Intake and Exhaust stroke of an Internal Combustion engine.
5) What is isolated system?
Ans:- Neither mass or nor energy transfer across the system boundaries of a Thermodynamics system.
Example: Thermo-flask.
6) What is adiabatic system?
Ans:- There is no mass and heat energy transfer across the system boundaries but mechanical energy across the system boundaries.
Example: Compression and Expansion stroke of an Internal Combustion engine.
7) What is Boundary of a Thermodynamics System?
Ans:- Real or imaginary surface that separate the thermodynamics system from the surrounding is called boundary.
That's all for today
