The boys out in a ton of work this season.
Rough estimate… we moved over 850,000lbs not including meets this season from January 10th through April 2nd! That’s ridiculous but definitely says a lot about work!
We take a blue-collar approves to everything that we do! We punched the clock, we get our hands dirty with rust and metal, and we see the benefits to our performance!

When Coach Ryan and I re-started this Boys Weightlifting program 3 years ago our goal was just to continue to get better every year… and create a “hungry” environment in our weight room.
2020: 4 kids on the team to start. No State Meet
2021: 22 kids on the team to start, finished with 26. (1) One State Qualified
2022: 27 kids to start, finished with 40. (3) Three State Qualified!
I’m proud to say:

Have all officially qualified to lift in the 2022 State Weightlifting Meet in Port St Joe April 23rd.
I am proud of every single one of our athletes who made the dedication to be here everyday, be coachable, and constantly get better meet after meet!
We have created an infectious culture that has spread all the way to our middle school athletes! WE ARE NOT DONE YET! We have 12 days to train. 12 days to get better… anything can happen! That’s why I love HS weightlifting…. You and the barbell!

UCS had a GREAT day yesterday at the District Weightlifting Meet at West Nassua! 13 guys competing, 11 of them move on to Regionals at Keystone HS next Friday! We had 2 District Champs. William Belton (238lbs Class) Back2Back District Champion! Congratulations to all! You trusted my process, YOU did all the work. Now enjoy the reward!
