Fort Sill's Own Freedom Elementary attended summer camp with STARBASE Fort Sill. These students didn't get to attend during the school year, so everything was new for them. The students learned STEAM subjects, including measurement in meters down to nanometers. The measurement was applied using straw rockets. Students learned coding with Lego robots and electronics with LittleBits. The study of rockets was continued using Estes rockets and astronaut landing was studied using Eggbert.

The Marlow Outlaws finished their STARBASE 2.0 in a very strong way by launching their personalized rockets. The weather was warm and windy for lift off, so the football field was necessary to contain lift off and touch down. An amazing group of students dedicated to their STEAM studies!

Today marked the final day of STARBASE Advanced at MacArthur Middle School! It’s been an incredible inaugural year for our MMS students, and they wrapped up the semester in the best way possible—by launching the rockets they just finished building.
Most of the rockets soared successfully into the sky, though a couple experienced what we like to call an “unscheduled rapid disassembly” 😄
A big thank you to Chief for making this experience both fun and meaningful for the MMS students. What a great way to end the program!
