I felt like a ghost this year at school. I did the best I could with the cancer diagnosis, lumpectomy, radiation, tests, procedures… and the terror that tried to over take me. I got zero accolades… I did get side eyes (those people I avoided) and I got hugs and prayers (those people carried me). But this one kid. yes ONE kid. She brought cupcakes for an end of the year party. Because our time around the speech therapy table meant the world to her- it was a soft place for her to land. so just an update: I'm feeling good in my body. I have a lot of doctor's appointments next week to set me up for radiation treatments. I'll know more about how that looks next week... I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you for the love, prayers, support, comfort items, donations, goodie bags, gift cards… I am so blessed and have been so encouraged to keep my eyes on Jesus during this storm. I'm speechless really. I love y'all and I hope you get to enjoy some sunshine wherever you are ❤️

Jesus knows how messy my emotions have been over the course of my life... the first tragedy of my life, I stuffed my emotions down... the second and third tragedies, I processed those emotions out loud so I could get through it... so any other inconvience or tragedy or crisis, I have to get it out of my head either verbally or journaling... tonight on the roulette of emotions that is this cancer diagnosis, we've stopped at the stand up comedian portion of this program and I just want to take a moment to say, whenever you do go through a crisis or a tragedy, take some time to laugh... the nurse who called to schedule the appointment for radiation said "one bit of advice is don't let this consume you..." anyway, I think Heath and I worked out a few stand up bits and I laughed more than I should have... oooo look Ace Ventura is on Netflix... 😂😂😂 ❤️❤️❤️

my kid has pulled all the laminated cards off his lanyard and we've remade it several times.... let's see if he likes a zipped wallet lanyard situation to store cards
