Bagua Zhang Weapon Form: Bagua Qi Men Staff 八卦奇門棍 Part 1

Bagua Qimen Staff or Bagua Special Gate Staff (八卦奇門棍 ) is one of the core weapon forms in the Fu Style Bagua Zhang system—and the only staff form within the tradition. According to Weapon Manuel from Fu ZhenSong, the techniques within this form were originally passed down by D**g Haichuan, the founder of Bagua Zhang.

This form is designed to strengthen the striking and twisting power of the arms, while refining the body’s coiling and spiraling mechanics. Unlike many other staff forms, Bagua Qimen Staff avoids ornamental or flowery movements, focusing instead on essential, practical applications. A key fighting principle is the seamless integration of horizontal and vertical strikes—each strike following the other—to create a continuous, unbroken chain of attacks.

This traditional form was preserved and passed down by Zhai Rongji, a disciple of Fu Zhensong.
