We are happy to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) and the University of Moratuwa - Faculty of Engineering, aiming to strengthen academic and corporate partnerships to drive innovation in construction, power & energy, and engineering services for the international market.

This landmark event was graced by Prof. Niranjan Gunawardana, Vice Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa, and Dr. Kingsley Bernard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the EDB. Also in attendance were Mrs. C. D. Dharmasena, Director General of the EDB, representatives from the EDB, Prof. K.T.M.U. Hemapala, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, representatives from the Department of Electrical Engineering, and industry partners from Venora Group and Sentinel Systems.

An academic team from Nagaoka University of Technology, under the guidance of Professor Tadachika Nakayama, had a productive meeting with Professor Udayanga Hemapala, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. They explored potential collaborations in research and ways to strengthen Sri Lanka's technology education system with support from the Japanese industry

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Mora Care Charity by 1979/83 batch for donating laptops for 15 most deserving students in the Engineering faculty. This is more than a charity program, but a real gratitude paid to University of Moratuwa for the 3rd consecutive year. The event took place with the presence of Donors and alumni members on 15-Feb-2024 at the faculty boardroom. It was coordinated through the Dean's office, FoE and Ms. Ravindi Jayasundara, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering.
Further, we wish to convey our appreciation to all the donors who provide monetary support to undergraduates throughout the years.
