It is pleased to inform you that the Student Financial Aid Office of MUET, Jamshoro has successfully Designed, Developed and Launched a Web Based Online SMS-Alert System to keep well informed to the Students, Faculty and the concerned administrative officials regarding various Scholarship Opportunities, Deadlines, & News Updates. Through SFAO-MUET Online SMS-Alert Portal, the users shall get register and after registration SMSs shall be delivered to their Mobile Phones. This system shall develop Strong Communication between all Stakeholders and shall keep them intact to the SFAO-MUET.

PEF Scholarship and Qarz-e-Hasna (Interest-Free Loan) for New Batch F-16

The applications are invited from the students of new Batch F-16 for the award of Professional Education Foundation Scholarship and Qarz-e-Hasna (Interest Free Loan to provide financial support to the deserving and needy students to pursue their education under following eligibility criteria:
1. The students admitted in the Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro, under Self-Finance Scheme / Special-Scheme, and the students who have already been awarded any other Scholarship in this year Shall Not Be Eligible for this loan/Scholarship.
2. Students are required to submit their application forms along with required documents mentioned in the respective form to the Student Financial Aid Office-MUET duly signed by concerned coordinator of your Department and endorsed by the Chairman of the Department.

Applications are invited from the needy and meritorious students from the undergraduate batches 13(Architecture), 14, 15 & 16 (Engineering, Architecture and CRP) of the University who are permanent resident of Sindh province, for the award of MUTA Need-cum-Merit Scholarship under following eligibility criteria

Eligibility:

The students admitted under Self-Finance Scheme / Special-Scheme and the students who have already been awarded any other Scholarship in this year shall not be eligible for this scholarship.

The students who passed their last year subsequent examinations in regular mode and secured at least 60% of total marks are eligible for this scholarship. (Once supplementary is an exemption in chronically / hardship cases) based need assessments.

Current income of Father / Guardian should not be exceeded the maximum limit of PKR: 45,000/- per month.

The student must attach current salary slip of father / guardian issued by the employer where he/she is working. In case of unemployed, the Income Certificate issued by the Union Council Office (not older than 6 months), along with following mandatory documents:

(1).Copies of computerized C.NIC of student, Father/Guardian.

(2).Copies of Domicile & PRC of student, Father/Guardian.

(3).Marks Certificate of Intermediate.

(4).Copies of last months’ paid utility bills (Electricity, Gas & Telephone).

(5).Statement of Purpose, (why he/she needs this Scholarship?)

The students who have already applied for HEC-Needs Based Scholarship previously, or availed MUTA Need-cum-Merit Scholarship need to submit only written application again duly singed by the Head of the Department mentioning the availed scholarship or for he/she applied.

The students who submit their online forms are required to get print out of the application form in the end and submit to the MUTA-Office along with required documents duly singed by the Head of the Department signed

The Government of Pakistan in collaboration with commercial banks has re-launched a “student Loan Scheme” (Qarz-e-Hasna Scheme) aimed to financially support talented and deserving students of public universities who have insufficient means and cannot pursue their studies due to financial constraints. The advertisement of the scheme has already appeared in the daily newspapers of the February 28, 2016 inviting applications from students of weak financial background to submit their applications on prescribed form with supporting documents latest by Monday May 30, 2016. ELIGIBILITY •
Under the scheme the students are eligible to apply for loans provided:
i) He/She has obtained admission on merit through normal course/procedure in the approved Universities/Colleges of the public sector
ii) ii) He/She falls at the time of admission within the age bracket of:-
For Graduation Not exceeding 21 Years
For Post-Graduation Not exceeding 31 Years
For Ph.D Not exceeding 36 Years
iii) He/She has secured 70% marks in the last public examination.
iv) He/She is unable to pursue studies due to financial constraints.

TYPES OF LOAN: The loan facility will be available for entire duration of the study for:-
Schedule Fee, Boarding expenses excluding meal charges paid directly to the University
Procurement of textbooks --- Disbursed directly to the student

REPAYMENT The maximum period of repayment of loan is 10-Years from the date of disbursement of first installment. The borrower shall repay the loan in monthly installment after six months from the date of first employment or one year from the date of completion of studies, whichever is earlier.
