My name is Lianne and I am a fully qualified primary teacher. I am passionate about teaching and truly believe that learning should be fun. I have done a PGCE which developed my teaching across the full range of primary subjects. I specialised in the teaching of modern foreign languages, especially French. Over my 7 years of teaching I have held several roles: all of which have improved my ability to tutor a range of different abilities and ages. As a class teacher in year 3/4 , I gained a strong understanding of the building blocks that are fundamental for good progress to be made further up the school. As a supply teacher, I gained experience in working with pupils of all ages. My time working in an SEN school taught me numerous strategies that can be used where normal class teaching has not helped further a child's progress. I have worked with pupils from year 2 up to year 9. While tutoring is varied and every child is different, the two main areas I have worked on with pupils are: building confidence and SATs preparation. My TEFL in grammar means I am especially confident when teaching SPAG for SATs in year 6. Tutoring Approach
Tutoring must be tailored to the individual child. I work with pupils to identify the gaps in their working knowledge of different subjects and then together we close the gaps so they can progress further. It is important to make pupils' interests part of the learning process as it engages them in the learning process and this is what helps children become confident learners.
