The President of the Private Schools Association Jammu & Kashmir, Dr. Nazir-ul-Islam Baba, while addressing an important press conference held yesterday in Srinagar, stated that all members of the registered body stand firmly united like a rock, and that this unity is the true strength of the organization. He informed that the Association’s head office has been established in Bemina, Srinagar, from where all administrative affairs are being managed in an organized and systematic manner.
In his address, he elaborated in detail on the current situation of the Association, ongoing reform measures, and the future roadmap. He clearly and unequivocally stated that elections within the Association were conducted through a complete democratic process, resulting in the formation of a new governing body. He emphasized that “the era of selection is now completely over,” and that the Association will function under a transparent, accountable, and democratic structure.
He also clarified that there is no concept of lifetime positions within PSA Jammu & Kashmir. No such positions have been granted, nor does the constitution permit them. He added that all posts within the organization are based on democratic principles and are held for a limited term to ensure accountability and transparency.
He further stated that the newly elected leadership—including the State President, District Presidents, and other office bearers—will work in unity, coordination, and mutual consultation. All major decisions will be taken with the full confidence and involvement of the State Executive Body to ensure institutional discipline and transparency.
Dr. Baba strongly emphasized that the Association’s top priority is to resolve issues related to NOCs faced by schools. He noted that due to negligence and a lack of seriousness over the past fifteen years, these issues had become increasingly complex. However, the current leadership is committed to addressing them on a priority basis through serious and practical measures.
He assured that the Association will introduce a clean, transparent, and fair system where every member will have equal rights, and no injustice will be tolerated. He stressed that merit, integrity, and transparency will be upheld at every level.
Responding to a question, Dr. Baba stated that the Association’s office in Bemina will remain open to the public at all times. Whether a student, teacher, or parent, everyone’s concerns will be heard and addressed seriously. He added that the Association will provide an open and accountable platform to restore public trust.
Speaking about budget schools, he said that nearly 90% of budget schools—from downtown Srinagar to remote rural areas—are members of the Association. These schools are not only delivering educational services but are also playing a key role in providing quality education to underprivileged sections of society. He made it clear that no division or discrimination among schools will be allowed under any circumstances.
While referring to Jamia Uloom Shopian, he stated that necessary steps will be taken to run the institution under a strong and organized administrative system so that students’ education and future are not affected. He reiterated that the stability of educational institutions and the welfare of students will always remain the top priority.
Furthermore, Dr. Baba announced the formation of a nine-member committee that will review the performance, administrative matters, and other key aspects of the past fifteen years. The committee will submit its detailed report within fifteen days, which will serve as the basis for strengthening the future course of action.
Concluding his address, he stated that the Private Schools Association is a duly registered body committed to the welfare of schools, improvement of educational standards, and protection of members’ rights. He added that the trust of members is the foundation of the organization, and maintaining this trust is their foremost responsibility.
He appealed to the public and members to avoid paying attention to rumors and to rely only on authentic information. He assured that the Association will continue to operate with transparency, integrity, and a spirit of service at every step.
