Today is the international day against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.
We ask you to stand with our lgbtq+ students who still have to face a lot of difficulties and hate for who they are, even in 2022..
Sadly the netherlands actually has gone down on the yearly Rainbow europe index. We scored 56 out of 100 points on being an lgbtq+ friendly counrty.
It's time for change!🏳️‍🌈

What is the Rainbow europe index:
Rainbow Europe ranks all 49 European countries on a scale between 0% (gross violations of human rights, discrimination) and 100% (respect of human rights, full equality). They rank the countries on the basis of laws and policies that have a direct impact on the LGBTI people’s human rights in under 7 categories: equality and non-discrimination; family; hate crime and hate speech; legal gender recognition; bodily integrity; civil society space; and asylum.

Next week on the 17th of May is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. We as the gsa ask you to stand with us and the q***r students on this very important day! Show the people around you some love, let them know that you care for them💓🏳️‍🌈

The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia was created in 2004 to draw the attention to the violence and discrimination experienced by le***an, gay, bis*xual, transgender and all other people with diverse s*xual orientations, gender identities or expressions, and s*x characteristics.

The date of May 17th was specifically chosen to commemorate the World Health Organization’s decision in 1990 to declassify homos*xuality as a mental disorder.
The Day represents a major global annual landmark to draw the attention of decision makers, the media, the public, corporations, opinion leaders, local authorities, etc. to the alarming situation faced by people with diverse s*xual orientations, gender identities or expressions, and s*x characteristics.

May 17 is now celebrated in more than 130 countries, including 37 where same-s*x acts are illegal.

Hello guys!
So, tomorrow is purple Friday!
Ofcourse we ask you; wear something purple to celebrate and support our lgbt+ students💜
If you don’t have purple in your closet, there is a nail polish booth in the k&w cafeteria where you can get purple nails! (You can also get your nails painted if you do have purple clothes ofcourse).

There will also be a confession/idea box. If you have something lgbt+ related you want to get off your chest or have an idea to make the school more lgbt+ friendly you can share it in the confession box (anonymously)

There will be a lot of things to do in the cafeteria! So come by and have a chat :)
The nail polish booth is open from 12.00 till 18.00

Hi! We’re the GSA of the hku conservatory.

Upcoming Friday is Purple Friday! A day where everyone can show solidarity with the LGBT+ community, simply by wearing something purple.
Universities and colleges are known as liberal and open communities. Yet not every school member may feel free to be themselves.
Purple Friday is an opportunity to help increase the feeling of acceptance and safety for the LGBT+ students so that no one has to fear rejection based on who they are or who they love.

Join us Friday and wear something purple!!!
