🌌✨ Year 2’s Out‑of‑This‑World Planetarium Experience! ✨🌌
This week, Year 2 had an unforgettable visit from the WonderDome team! The children were completely immersed in the magical world of space, perfectly supporting their learning in reading, writing and science.
Inside the dome, they explored the Solar System, discovering galaxies, stars, the Sun, planets and moons. They were fascinated to learn about the historic Moon landings too. There were plenty of wide eyes and gasps of amazement as the children experienced space in a truly breath taking way.
It was a fantastic opportunity to spark curiosity, inspire questions and deepen their understanding of our universe. What an incredible adventure for our budding astronomers! 🌙🚀

🪙✨ Money, Money, Money in Year 1! ✨🪙
This week in maths, the children learned all about different coins and their values. They began by exploring each coin closely, discussing what they noticed and how the coins differ. This is an important step in meeting the Year 1 objective of recognising and naming coins.
They then practised ordering coins from the smallest to the largest value before enjoying a lively game of Money Bingo, which helped them identify coins more quickly. The children also worked hard to match each coin to its correct amount, showing great progress in understanding value.
Each day this week the children have visited the Sunnyside Superstore, where they used real coins to “buy” a breaktime snack. This gave them a fun and practical opportunity to apply their learning in a real‑life context.
A brilliant, hands‑on week of learning! 💰🌟

🌱✨ Reception's Traditional Tales Adventure ✨🌱
Our Reception children have enthusiastically embraced their new topic, Traditional Tales, beginning with the much-loved story of Jack and the Beanstalk.
To bring the story to life, each child carefully selected and planted their own special ‘magic’ bean. Over the coming weeks, they will enjoy watching their beans grow and develop, just like Jack’s famous beanstalk!
This exciting experience provided the perfect inspiration for some fantastic writing. The children used their imaginations brilliantly to think about what they might discover at the top of their beanstalks, creating some wonderfully creative ideas and stories.
We can't wait to see both the children's writing and their magic beans continue to grow! 🌿📚✨

📚🍭 Hansel and Gretel Adventure! 🍭📚
On Monday, the children were immersed in the magical world of Hansel and Gretel! They enjoyed watching the story before getting creative and designing their own colourful paper gingerbread houses.
To bring the setting to life, the children sampled some tasty sweets and explored a range of exciting adjectives to describe the tempting treats. They worked hard to create their own adjective mats, filled with rich and imaginative vocabulary.
This fun and engaging hook lesson sparked lots of creativity and excitement, providing the perfect inspiration for their upcoming writing. We can’t wait to see the wonderful ideas that emerge from their adventures in the enchanting world of Hansel and Gretel!

🚶♂️🚲 Walk to School Week 🚲🚶♀️
This week we have proudly taken part in Walk to School Week organised by Living Streets, and it has been wonderful to see so many children travelling to school in active ways.
It has been fantastic listening to the children talk enthusiastically about their journeys to school, whether walking, scooting or cycling with family and friends. Our bike shed has been especially busy this week, which has been great to see!
We would also like to say how pleasing it has been to see so many children riding safely and responsibly whilst wearing helmets. Thank you to all families for supporting this important message.
We hope the positive habits built this week continue into next term and beyond!
A huge thank you to Kingsthorpe Parish Council for funding and supporting this initiative.

🍅🥒 Year 4 D&T Day 🥘✨
Today, the children in Year 4 took part in a fantastic Design and Technology day as part of the Primary Knowledge Curriculum. They worked hard to prepare and make their very own ratatouille and couscous!
The children thoroughly enjoyed every part of the process, from preparing the ingredients to tasting their delicious creations. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm, teamwork and growing cooking skills throughout the day.
To finish the day, parents and carers were invited in to share and enjoy the food the children had made. It was a lovely way to celebrate all of their hard work and achievements👏🍴
