With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Mama Sallah, Club Owner and Master of Club Golden Eagle Farafenni.
This is a truly sad day for the Gambia Kung Fu Wushu Federation and the entire martial arts family. Mama Sall was not only a leader, but a pillar of strength, discipline, and inspiration to many students and practitioners across the country.
His legacy, dedication, and immense contribution to the growth of Kung Fu Wushu in The Gambia will never be forgotten. 💔
We have lost a true Master, a mentor, and a guiding light.
May Allah grant him Jannah 🤲🏾 and give strength and patience to his family, students, and all who mourn this great loss.
Rest well, Master. You will forever remain in our hearts. 🕊️

🇬🇲 PROUD MOMENT FOR THE GAMBIA KUNG FU WUSHU FEDERATION 🇬🇲
The Gambia Kung Fu Wushu Federation is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Smart Martial Arts Training Center, whose Tai Chi demonstration has been officially recognized by Henan University, China.
Their video has been selected for inclusion in the Global Tai Chi Video Library as part of the International Tai Chi Day Campaign, a remarkable international honor that highlights the growing impact of Chinese martial arts in The Gambia.
This recognition reflects the dedication, discipline, and commitment of Master Badjie and his students, who continue to represent our nation with excellence on the global stage.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Henan Provincial Foreign Aid Training Center for acknowledging this contribution and for supporting the promotion of Tai Chi culture worldwide.
👏 Congratulations to Master Badjie and the students for flying the Gambian flag high and making us proud.
Together, we continue to promote unity, discipline, and cultural exchange through Kung Fu and Tai Chi.

Today marked a major step forward in our preparations for the 2026 Chinese Kung Fu Show & Spring Festival Celebration, proudly hosted by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to The Gambia.
Our strategic planning meeting was graciously honored by the presence of the Acting Director of the National Sports Council, Mahmoud Lamin Jawla, the Alkali of Latrikunda Sabiji, and representatives from all key stakeholders and partner institutions. Their commitment and unity reflect the national importance of this historic event.
This celebration is more than a show, it is a powerful symbol of friendship, cultural exchange, youth empowerment, and discipline through sport, bringing together China and The Gambia in one spirit.

The Gambia Kung Fu Wushu Federation is proud to host the 2026 Chinese Kung Fu Show & Spring Festival Celebration fully funded by the Chinese Embassy, a historic national event that crowns the successful Regional Kung Fu Wushu Championships held across Kanifing Municipality, West Coast Region, North Bank Region, Lower River, and Central River Region.
This grand celebration marks the National Finals, bringing together the nation’s finest athletes to showcase discipline, strength, culture, and excellence through Kung Fu Wushu.
Beyond competition, this event stands as a strong symbol of cultural exchange, youth empowerment, and the deepening friendship between The Gambia and China, using sport and culture as bridges of unity and mutual respect.
📍 All roads lead to Serrekunda East Park on February 14 as we celebrate victory, culture, and the Chinese Spring Festival together.

🇬🇲🇨🇳 CHINESE KUNG FU SHOW & SPRING FESTIVAL CELEBRATION 2026 🥋🎉

The Gambia Kung Fu Wushu Federation shares highlights from the combined Lower River Region (LRR) and Central River Region (CRR) Regional Kung Fu Wushu Championship, successfully held in Soma.
This competition is part of the National Kung Fu Wushu Championship and Cultural Performance, fully funded by the Chinese Embassy in The Gambia, under the Chinese Kung Fu Show & Spring Festival Celebration 2026.
Following the regional championships in Kanifing Municipal Council (9th January 2026) and West Coast Region (11th January 2026), the combined LRR & CRR championship in Soma featured outstanding performances across the various Taolu categories, demonstrating skill, discipline, and competitive spirit.
Athletes who emerged victorious from this stage have qualified to compete in the National Final, scheduled for 14th February 2026 at Serekunda East Park, to be held alongside the celebration of the Chinese Spring Festival.
The championship continues to promote sporting excellence, cultural exchange, youth participation, and national unity, using Kung Fu Wushu as a platform to connect communities across the country.

🇬🇲🇨🇳 CHINESE KUNG FU SHOW & SPRING FESTIVAL CELEBRATION 2026 🥋🎉.

The Gambia Kung Fu Wushu Federation is proud to present the National Kung Fu Wushu Championship and Cultural Performance, fully funded by the Chinese Embassy in The Gambia, as part of the Chinese Kung Fu Show & Spring Festival Celebration.
This historic national championship commenced with the Regional Championships on 9th January 2026 in the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC), followed by the West Coast Region (WCR) on 11th January 2026, and is proceeding through the North Bank Region (NBR), Lower River Region (LRR), and Central River Region (CRR) respectively.
Champions from all regions in the various Taolu categories will qualify to compete in the National Final, scheduled for 14th February 2026 at Serekunda East Park, held alongside the vibrant celebration of the Chinese Spring Festival.
This event goes beyond competition. It stands as a powerful symbol of people-to-people exchange, cultural understanding, youth empowerment, and the growing friendship between The Gambia and the People’s Republic of China through sport and culture. Kung Fu Wushu continues to serve as a bridge that unites communities, instills discipline, and strengthens bilateral cooperation.
The Gambia Kung Fu Wushu Federation extends its deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Chinese Embassy in The Gambia for the full sponsorship, unwavering support, and commitment to the development of Kung Fu Wushu and cultural exchange in our country.
