GenQ: Raising awareness on gender equality issues for adult audiences

👉We are delighted to announce that on October 20th , 2023, an event dedicated to raising local awareness about gender equality, gender disparities, and women's rights took place in Athens, Greece, as part of the GenQ project, which aims to increase awareness of gender equality issues among adult audiences.

🎈 During this event, we engaged with various stakeholders to:

📌 Present the GenQ project's objectives.
📌 Share the project's outcomes and results.
📌 Discuss the impact on the target demographic.
📌 Participate in interactive workshops

🙆‍♂️ Furthermore, we conducted a productive focus group session with the participating stakeholders, facilitating a brainstorming session to explore ideas for future collaborations and how to sustain the project's mission beyond its conclusion.

✔️ We also received valuable feedback from stakeholders regarding the project and its accomplishments, as well as the GenQ Handbook. They underscored the importance of initiatives in this domain, as they serve as sources of inspiration for positive and optimistic transformations.

💜Impact of the GenQ project in Bulgaria

🫶During the course of the GenQ project in Bulgaria, we achieved a large and wide-ranging impact.

👩We have encouraged young people in society not to discriminate others based on their gender. We talked about stereotypes in the labour market and how both genders can practice any job. We came to the conclusion that together we need to fight for a change in societal attitudes so that we can secure a future where both women and men are treated equally in public life and in the labour market.

✍We gathered stakeholders and discussed ideas on how we can continue the project activities even after its end, so that it can have an inclusive effect.

📚We introduced the public to the GenQ Handbook, its good practices, the development of women's rights, women's movements for equality, their struggles and the successes they have achieved.

❗️The impact of the project has been evident and encouraging. Also, the feedback we received from both the young participants and the stakeholders was fruitful, positive and most of all encouraging to keep moving forward in this direction.

🔍Today much of the information reaches us thanks to social networks. Because they are widespread and people have easy access, information reaches us faster than ever before.

🫶In this post we will focus on how social networks have helped in achieving gender equality.

👉Amplifying Voices - People can share their experiences and stories on social media, particularly women and members of underrepresented groups.

👉Education and Awareness - Gender equality issues have benefited greatly from social media campaigns, hashtags, and movements. These public awareness campaigns aid in educating people about the difficulties faced by women and the significance of gender equality.
