Amazing weekend at the London Poomsae Championship 🥋

So proud of our team for bringing home 5 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals, as well as the bronze team trophy — out of 21 clubs👏

But more importantly, this championship is about growth, confidence, stepping out of comfort zones, and learning how to compete. Especially for beginners, this event is such a valuable and inspiring experience.

And a big shoutout to Misha and Erin who attended the South England Regional Poomsae training this morning, 4.5 hours of focused, high-level training. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Belt gradings are a special moment in every Taekwondo journey. They represent weeks and months of training, commitment, and dedication, and it’s always fantastic to see our students step onto the mat and show how much they have grown.

As the belts get higher, the gradings get tougher. For some of our students who are now getting closer to black belt, the level is becoming quite advanced and the expectations are higher than ever. But one of the core tenets of Taekwondo is Perseverance, the determination to keep going even when things get difficult. Our students continue to train, improve, and never give up, and we couldn’t be more proud of them. 👊

A special mention also goes to the incredible energy and spirit in the room yesterday, and to the moment captured in one of the photos where it genuinely looks like Sky is about half a meter above the mat… which he actually is 😅. Proof that Taekwondo training may not teach you to fly… but it can get you pretty close😅

Well done everyone, your hard work truly pays off. Thank you Sky, for assisting in the grading🫶

What an amazing festive gathering this Sunday🎄

So much fun, laughter, and great energy as our Putney Taekwondo family came together to celebrate another successful year.

Everyone brought their favourite dish, creating a fantastic buffet with delicious food from all over the world🤗

We also had several kicking competitions, including our flying kick challenge (who could kick the furthest 💥) and our high kick competition (who could kick the highest 🚀). The winners in each category went home with an awesome kicking pad, well deserved!

And of course, no festive event is complete without a gingerbread cookie decorating competition🏆

It was so lovely to see parents, siblings, and our members all together, lots of joy, smiles, and great memories made.

This is definitely becoming a Putney Taekwondo Club tradition ❤️
