亞洲大學國際學術交流中心 CIAE of Asia University 國際學術交流中心

本校於93學年度設置「國際學術交流中心」，積極扮演「通往世界之窗」之角色，提供外國學生全英語授課學程∕課程及本地生交換計畫資訊，同時邀請國際學者及延攬外籍教師蒞校演講授課，以吸引外國優秀學生前來就讀，營造一個國際化社區。除擴大招收外國學位生人數外，本校亦積極鼓勵本國學生出國研習課程，增進國際視野，提升個人未來競爭力。每年除多位學生獲教育部「學海飛颺」計畫補助出國交換一學期外，亦辦理暑期出國研習活動。以100及101年度暑期為例，分別送出61及154位大學部同學赴馬來西亞最頂尖的馬來亞大學研習課程。而做為姊妹校的馬來亞大學亦於101年度暑期，選出100位學生至本校學習華語及臺灣文化相關課程，落實兩校互惠交流。

亞大辦學卓著招生滿額排名進步10名！---

專責研究落點分析的大考通訊社社長傅績欽日前應邀到亞洲大學（Asia University, Taiwan）演講，他說，亞洲大學辦學績效卓著，各學系表現突飛猛進，不但招生名額全數滿招，校平均排名也大幅躍進近8％，在71所高教體系大學院校中，今年排名45名，比去年102年進步10名，超越不少資深國立、私立大學，未來有待維持戰果，並追求再進步，就可成功遠離少子化招生淹水線。

傅績欽社長是以「103學年招生回顧與展望」為題，9月11日上午到亞大演講，他表示，各大學院校102-103排名百分比，多數院校都是微幅退步，只有7所院校進步，其中，亞大進步幅度高達7．88％，比起台北市立大學進步3．81％、彰師大進步2．74％、南華大學進步1．4％等校超出許多，居全國之冠，令人驚艷，堪稱是「驚人的成果」，尤其，是亞大今年大學排名大幅超前。

傅社長分析亞大向上提升的原因指出，亞大領導者創辦人蔡長海、蔡進校長等人優化學校的氣魄與決心，全國僅見，且指揮系統一條鞭，團隊齊心，無人爭功諉過，且無學術傲慢；亞大定期舉辦「大師論壇」，聘請諾貝爾獎得主及知名大師、學者蒞校演講，創意設計學院學生在國際設計暨發明競賽中，得獎連連，實力不輸給台灣科大、成大等名校；並設新生入學獎金最高360萬元，吸引優秀學生就讀，不斷讓亞大知名度提升，讓學生及家長青睞，讓校平均排名大幅度提升。

「亞大優質辦學效應，直接反映到招生成果上！」傅社長說，個人申請亞大名額1369人，分發率高達98.69％，是招生名額逾千的大學中，全國第一；今年繁星推薦入學，亞大也是全國少數零缺額、第一輪就滿招的私立大學，所招到的學生中，在校成績排名百分比也從去年的平均40％，提升到今年的18％，進步22％，也是全國進步最多的大學，遙遙領先第2名14％。

日本教養大學鈴木校長等一行人到亞大參訪！---

日本教養大學校長鈴木典比古等一行人到亞大參訪，並與蔡進發校長交流座談，洽談雙方術交流的可行性。

日本教養大學校長鈴木典比古(Norihiko Suzuki DBA)、國際處高橋淳子(Junko Takahashi)，在教育部國際及兩岸教育司秘書歐季曦陪同下，今(8日)天到亞洲大學（Asia University, Taiwan）參訪，並與亞洲大學校長蔡進發、人文社會學院陳英輝院長、國際學術交流中心主任蕭震緯等人進行交流。

蔡進發校長表示，亞洲大學創校13年，是很年輕的學校，但經由全校師生的努力，近年在各方面表現傑出，2013年英國泰晤士報金磚五國及新興經濟體世界排名，亞洲大學是全球第53名、全台第10名，2014年更獲得新興大學百大排名第99名；設計學院生表現優異，德國iF設計獎亞大全球排名第28名。另外，目前亞洲大學附設醫院的工程也在進行中。

人文社會學院陳英輝院長介紹該學院特色及師生的表現，希望兩校未來可以擬定交換學生計畫及教師互訪，落實國際學術交流。蕭震緯主任也提到，亞大已連續9年獲教育部評為「教學卓越大學」，亞大師生的國際移動力逐年提升。

日本教養大學校長鈴木典比古說，該校是企業最關注及國際化相當完善的一所大學，日本選定37所大學為超級國際化大學，東京大學、京都大學、早稻田大學、慶應大學等13所大學是第一類大學，而教養大學、豐橋技術科技大學等24所大學是第二類大學，引進和實施新的教育體制，推動日本社會的國際化為目標，每年獲得1.7億元的補助金。

鈴木典比古校長稱讚亞洲大學成長，可說是非常的快速，在台灣少子化的衝擊之下，亞洲大學能有這樣的規模及成績，令人為之驚嘆。

國際學術交流中心主任蕭震緯、國際學術交流中心執行秘書張俊評等陪同日本教養大學校長鈴木典比古等人，參觀日本建築大師安藤忠雄為亞洲大學打造的亞洲現代美術館參觀，他們對於美術館的建築之美及豐富館藏留下深刻印象。

AU Enters the Lists of Three THE Rankings of 100 Top Universities in Asia or in the World---

Asia University (AU) has been evaluated by the THE Ranking in UK to be one of the best 100 universities in Asia or the world in 3 different ways of university ranking

In about half an year in 2013-2014, being 13 years old only, AU is evaluated by the world-recognized THE (Times Higher Education) Ranking in the UK to be a “triple top-100” university, indicating that AU, with its efforts and achievements in university development, has been recognized globally as a very prominent university in the world.

Specifically, as announced in December of 2013, AU was ranked the 53th in the 2013 THE Ranking of Universities of the nations of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) and Emerging Economies in the world. Totally 21 universities in Taiwan were ranked in the top 100, with AU as the 10th in Taiwan. Secondly, in May 2014 AU was ranked by the THE Ranking to be the 99th in the 100 best universities under 50 years in the world. Only four universities from Taiwan enter the list, and AU is the only private university in the four. Thirdly, on June 19, 2014 AU was announced by the THE Ranking to be the 83th in the list of 100 best Asian universities. Totally 13 universities in Taiwan enter the list, with AU as the 2nd best private university in Taiwan.

With AU as the youngest university in Taiwan, these ranking results are really like a miracle. Even in the lists of the universities in the three rankings, AU again is the youngest of all. The Political Deputy Minister, Dr. De-Hua Chen, of the Ministry of Education, when visiting AU, also applauded these accomplishments of AU as an unprecedented record in Taiwan, which is especially praiseworthy with AU being a private university with limited financially support from the government. Chair Professor Chih-Liang Yaung in AU, who is the former Minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, also indicated that this is really a glory of AU and even Taiwan, achieved by the continuous efforts of the faculty, students, and the Board of Trustees of AU.

AU Founder Chang-Hai Tsai mentioned that he wished strongly to establish a distinguished world-renown university in Taiwan, called Taiwan’s Harvard, when he started to found the school 13 years ago. Now it seems that Tsai’s dream is on the way of coming true, but for this, “one-day celebration is enough; we must continue to move forward until the dream is reached,” he said.

AU Students Granted G-Mark International Design Awards in Japan---

Two student groups from Visual Communication Dept. win the so-called “Oscar Design Award,” the Japanese G-Mark International Design Award, with works of a fruit snack package and a visual design of a

Two artworks from the Dept. of Visual Communication at AU were granted the Japan G-Mark International Design Award, which are regarded as the “Oscar Design Award” in the world. The G-Mark Award (also called the Good Design Award) has been set up for fifty years, and is recognized globally as one of the top four design awards in the world. And for a half century, this is the first time university students from Taiwan won this award in Japan. What a splendid achievement of AU!

The titles of the two works are “Fruit Snack Package of “Ji Yuan Guo” Jiji Mountain Banana Fruit Snack” and “Visual Design of Asia Museum of Modern Art Opening Ceremony Gift.” They are works designed by two groups of students from the Dept. of Visual Communication: (1) L. W. Lin, Y. C. Chiu, Y. T. Chen, T. E. Chang, and Y. Y. Huang; (2) Y. T. Chang, Y. L. Lin, and W. R. Lin.

Chair Professor Pang-Soong Lin pointed out that to be a G-Mark Award candidate, the work should be a commercial product for use by the industry, and this sets a high entry barrier for students in Taiwan to win the award. He said that this year the two groups of AU students based their designs on the architecture of the Asia Museum of Modern Art designed by the world-renown architect Tadao Ando for AU as well as on the idea of peeling bananas; and that this award winning is a record of students in Taiwan in the G-Mark Award contest.

The G-Mark Award this year attracted 801 companies/institutions from all over the world, including Sony, Panasonic, Muji, Motorola, Asus, Toyota, and also some universities, and so on. Winning such an award is really a great honor, and this time AU students won two such awards! This is really a great step of AU of its effort toward establishing a world-famous university.

新加坡南洋理工大學張善勇教授到亞大演講！---

南洋理工大學教授張善勇到資工系演講，並拜訪亞大半導體產研專班，雙方學術交流、討論合作事宜。

新加坡南洋理工大學教授張善勇博士(Dr. Sam Zhang)，10月6日應邀到亞洲大學（Asia University, Taiwan）演講，他以「My Will，My Way」為主題勉勵資工系師生說，期望（expectation）、意念的力量（will power）、目標（target）、堅持（persistence）、智商情商及媽寶弊病（IQ&EQ and “only—child syndrome）、執行意識（walk it），都是影響人生成功與否的重要因素。

張善勇教授強調，人生不可能一帆風順，一定會遇到失敗與挫折，如何調整腳步與做好情緒管理，繼續努力往目標前進是邁向成功的要務。他同時還結合自己的人生經歷，向同學們講解了自己如何在艱困的環境中堅持目標，自立向學等待機會的來臨，同時也講解學習技巧和面對考試之間關聯性與重要性。

張善勇教授隨後參觀亞洲大學半導體產研專班，與產研專班負責人許健教授進行學術交流，許健教授強調，亞大半導體產學專班是國內大學中很獨特的學術團隊，亞大半導體實驗室研發「非摩爾定律」產品技術即類比、功率、高壓的元件物理及創意設計，先後受到台積電、世界先進、新唐科技等電子大廠獎助委託研發及產學合作，目前已與美國、馬來西亞、中國大陸等國際知名學術及研發機構合作，為台灣及亞洲的奈米技術發展與應用領先的實驗室，將來有機會將與張教授合作開發先進奈米製造技術。

張善勇教授此次蒞校演講，同時也受邀擔任資工系系所發展及課程規劃諮詢暨審查委員，針對系所發展方向及課程規畫提出寶貴的建議。

亞大資工系主任時文中說，張善勇教授為國際知名的學者，目前為新加坡南洋理工大學機械及航空工程學院終身教授，薄膜學會創始人和現任會長。現任美國材料學會《材料研究雜誌》主編，《奈米科技通訊》雜誌總編。中國中科院固體物理研究所名譽教授，浙江大學、哈爾濱工業大學客座教授，於2007年獲頒英國材料學會會士，現任先進金屬材料塗鍍國家工程實驗室首席科學家，具有豐富學術研究經歷，透過此次的演講與師生互動交流及系務發展的諮詢及課程審查，有助提升學生及教師國際視野，進而提升國際競爭力。

韓國「台灣教育中心」理事長拜訪亞大！---

韓國高中校長團拜訪亞大，參加兩校學術研討會，並參觀亞洲大學現代美術館，對竇加雕塑作品留下深刻印象。

韓國「台灣教育中心」理事長沙春生10月23日帶領韓國高中訪問團一行人，到亞洲大學（Asia University, Taiwan）參訪，除了參加國際學術交流中心舉辦的歡迎座談會，還順道出席亞洲大學現代美術館「竇加特展」開幕晚會。

出面接待的亞大校長蔡進發表示，亞大創校13年，是很年輕的大學，經全校師生的努力，各方面表現傑出，亞大已是全球、亞洲「三個百大」大學，2013年英國泰晤士報金磚五國及新興經濟體世界排名，亞洲大學是全球第53名、全台第10名，2014年更獲得新興大學百大排名第99名；設計學院生表現優異，如在德國iF設計獎，亞大全球排名第28名。亞洲大學也重視學生的實習就業，與76家品牌企業簽約，提供學生實習的機會，希望能「畢業即就業」，未來有機會可以跟韓國學校做更多的合作及交流。

韓國松谷觀光高等學校校長王德揚表示，一進到亞大漂亮的校園，就讓他留下深刻的印象，希望兩校未來可以有更多的機會可以合作、交流，透過與亞洲大學簽訂兩校合作備忘錄(MOU)，可望展開實質的學術交流。

值得一提的是，有一位隨行的來賓，是亞大韓籍學生的家長，親自參訪亞大後，特別感謝亞大提供如此優雅的環境，讓他的孩子安心就讀，返回韓國後，會推薦學生到亞洲大學來就讀。

韓國松谷女子中學校長王鉉善念的是藝術相關科系，在創意設計學院副院長林盛宏等人的陪同下，參觀創意設計學院學生作品，對於亞大推動的美學及人文道德教育，深表敬佩及羨慕。
