Have you ever had a dream that you feared? Not a dream while you are sleeping, but instead a dream while you are awake, a lifelong dream.
Iâve had a personal yoga practice since I was seventeen years old. Iâve been a certified yoga instructor for over three years now and have only taught a handful of times.
Why?
Because being in front of a group of strangers, being the center of attention, it scares the s**t out of me!
How could something you love so much, something that brings you so much joy be feared so deeply?
Self......Limiting.......Beliefs......many of us are our own saboteur!
We let our minds run with these false misperceptions about ourselves and our abilities. Creating stories that are far from the truth, only to our own detriment.
I recently just returned back home to Thailand, with the security and stability of a proper long term visa and working permit. I had accomplished something that so many people try to do here and struggle to achieve. I am setting my roots and achieving this lifelong dream.
Yet, when I got home I felt overwhelmed and anxious. After a couple days I was on the verge of tears, I couldnât organize my thoughts.
Soon, I ran into one of my good friends and mentor, and he told me something that one of his mentors had told him in a time of struggle and overwhelm.
Think of an anthill. They can be so grandiose, so large, but, how did it start? One grain of sand at a time. Little by little this amazing thing gets created. It took a lot of hard work, patience, teamwork, and conquering fears to build.
Then it hit me, I set a goal that when I returned back home that I would post my yoga flyers around town and start this dream, it had become reality, and I was scared!
Yet, every time I had taught before it brought my so much joy, satisfaction, and enjoyment seeing what people can get out of just an hour of yoga. It was fulfilling, and made me happy.
In that moment I decided, I donât care if Iâm scared, let me be scared, Iâm doing this. I want to do this, I can do this, I am doing this!
So what dreams do you fear?
What self limiting beliefs are you telling yourself?
What is stopping you from achieving the life you want?
Know in every cell of your being that you can achieve it, believe in yourself, thank your shadow for showing you your fears and tell it, no, I am going to do this!
Continue to move forward in a positive productive manner, knowing that no matter the size of the progress, no matter the hurtles jumped you are moving toward your dream!
If you would like to hear more about my story or just talk about your fears, dreams, shadows, or any other aspect of yourself please feel free to send me a message. I would love to connect and share with you!
Have a wonderful day đ
