Morning everyone. A few spaces have become available to support students in preparation for upcoming exams. If your child needs some last-minute revision, please book a call and we can try and fit you in.

We are also taking bookings for students who might need some additional support to catch up on missed learning in school. We have tutors on standby for primary, secondary and further education students.

Easter time is always stressful for exam students in year 11 and year 13. You receive mixed messages from teachers about making sure you use the time wisely but also making sure you rest as well. I always say it is a mixture of both. Finding some top tips below to support your revision strategy will help you move forward, Having a plan is far more beneficial than not having one, and following the steps below will help you formulate one:

1) Start revising early
2) Plan your revision using a timetable.
3) Set up a nice, tidy study space.
4) Mix up your revision activities.
5) Do lots of practice papers and questions.

Of course, the above is all achievable if you know where to start, If you don't, then please get in touch and we can help. We have tutors on hand ready to get started to support you.

This morning I am going to share with you how the pre-recorded content will work. This is all the content you would have received face-to-face but in a more convenient style for your needs. We will cover:

1) The science behind how to learn
2) Setting a revision strategy
3) Consistency being the key and how to apply it
4) Retrieval of information
5) The importance of balancing time & Mental Health
6) Getting it right 1st time

All students signing up will receive access to a private Facebook group where they will be able to connect with like minded students and tutors for further support.

Welcome back to The Study Shack ...

Today we are going to look at what exactly the face-to-face tutoring sessions will focus on. The bespoke 6-week curriculum will teach students:
1) The science behind how to learn
2) Setting a revision strategy
3) Consistency is the key and how to apply it
4) Retrieval of information
5) The importance of balancing time & Mental Health
6) Getting it right 1st time

Each session is designed for 90 minutes:
Part 1 - Introduction to Memory/Revision Technique (30 minutes)
Part 2 - Applying technique/s to a chosen subject (45 minutes)
Part 3 - Mental Health support with targeted meditation (15 minutes)

Each day we are going to discuss one of our services in more depth - today we look at the face to face sessions:*

✏️ These are group sessions of approx 10-15 students each time and will last for 90 minutes.
✏️ Each week We will look at a cognitive strategy for 30 minutes to improve memory retention and then look to implement the strategy across any subject important to you for 45 minutes. This will happen with support from tutors.
✏️ We will then finish with 15 minutes mental health/relaxation support to help you get your mind in the right place before an exam.

The first round of 6-weekly face to face sessions will be starting on Monday 14th March at 5:30pm at Lordswood Girls’ School, Knightlow Rd, Harborne, Birmingham B17 8QB

Any student signing up for a service will be enrolled into a private Facebook group to join up with other like-minded students and have access to resources to support their exam preparation. Through the Facebook channel, students will have the opportunity to engage in free bitesize masterclass sessions throughout the next two months.

The Study Shack team are busy putting together some fantastic services to support students on the run up to thier exams.
Over the coming weeks further information will be released on both face-to-face tuition and pre-recorded materials to support this.

We also have the option to offer 1:1 targetted support if your child would prefer that more personalised approach, this includes support around specific subjects and exam preperation.
