St. Catherine's Academic Review (SCAR) is pleased to announce a call for book reviews, for the inaugural issue of the journal.

Book reviews provide a critical and comprehensive analysis of academic publications, with specific attention towards methodologies and approaches.

A book review should include:
- An overview of the book’s contents;
- A concise overview of the book’s central topics;
- A critical analysis of the book’s significance by evaluating the strengths and weaknesses, and its relevance to the field.

The maximum word count is 1500 words.

If you would like to review a book that is not on the list, please email our Book Review Editor Alexandra Hertlein. We are looking for reviews of critically engaging books that have been published no earlier than January 2018.

St. Catherine's Academic Review (SCAR) is pleased to announce a call for abstracts for the inaugural issue of the journal, which we aim to publish in Michaelmas 2021.

SCAR is a yearly, student-led, peer-reviewed, academic journal. We publish works in the humanities, social sciences and sciences by Catz students and alumni.

Abstracts for original research and for shortened versions of already-published works (‘extended abstracts’) are welcome. Abstracts must be no longer than 500 words and must contain no references to the identity of their author.
