In today’s class at I was so impressed when the mums were one minute dancing and singing and the next minute when Robot Reg “robot-ed” (sounded out) m-a-t all lay down in the floor with their children! It was so much fun and lovely to see the preschoolers responding to their parents’ enthusiasm!

Children don’t need activities to feel like lessons for meaningful learning to be taking place.

As an Early Years primary school teacher with over two decades worth of experience I know that building skills and those little “a-ha!” moments tend to work best when children are having fun because then they are self-motivated!!

⭐ 📕 📖 ⭐ 📕 🌟 When you come to my classes you’ll be amazed how quickly your child starts to put sounds together (oral blending) in order to start to read short words!!

Many parents focus on whether their child can read words.
But one of the most important pre-reading skills is actually oral blending.
What is oral blending?
It’s when children hear sounds separately and put them together to make a word.
For example:
c-a-t = cat
d-o-g = dog
This skill helps children understand how reading works before they ever pick up a book.
At Phonics with Robot Reg, we build these skills through games, songs and playful activities that children absolutely love.
Reading doesn’t start with books.
It starts with listening.
