Sanjo Karate - HDKI Preston 2nd class of the week expanded on the first by working in groups to develop potential applications of a chosen kata. Both Sensei John Carr and Sensei Sandra Carr groups had different ideas on how to break it down and how to present their ideas.

Sanjo Karate - HDKI Preston brown belts ran through Heian katas to Bassai Dai whilst black belt katas performed a senior counterpart before splitting up. Junior grades working grading kumite, explosiveness of power, technique to target and compression and expansion whilst the seniors explored Kanku Dai and elements of the Shogai Summercamp.

Just because it's the summer holidays doesn't mean Sanjo students don't work hard!

It was a slow kicks night, we all did the same techniques but we all had our own seperate goal, (from low kyu grade to nidan level).

Sanjo had a visitor last night, Hadashi and Soncho's Chris Cook. He is back up north for a few weeks so thought he'd bob in and say hi to his friends at Sanjo before delivering one of his infamous warm ups which made Sanjo move like beach whales (in the words of Jenny) 🤣🤣

Following from our summer gradings, Sanjo students were concentrating on yokogeri keage and kekomi with abit of ura-mawashi geri and slow kata to finish the 2 sessions off.

Last week Sanjo had a lovely surprise 😀 Paul Langley Sensei from Shogai Karate Dojo was working in the area and so thought he'd bob by.

He assisted with the juniors class then kindly went through Junro Sandan in the seniors class before enjoying abit of kumite to finish off.

Thank you Sensei, you're welcome back anytime 🥋
