Are-Itshokeng is a very vibrant school in terms of music, culture and Sports. The school competed up to the National level and became national champions.

The acting principal Ms Hopetown was invited at the well done function by the Mayor of Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality Cllr. Nikiwe Num and District Director Mr Benny Monale. The function was held at Klerksdorp Recreation Center. Are-Itshokeng P. S was honoured by awarding Certificate of Appreciation for Excellence in Hygiene, Vegetable Garden and Compliant NSNP Kitchen. As the year draws to a close, the SGB and SMT acknowledged and honoured all non- teaching staff members. The Award ceremony was organized by the Entertainment committee led by the Deputy Principal Ms Hopetown. Our celebrants were given a token of appreciation for the work well done in the academic year of 2023. This gesture was indicative of the importance of all stakeholders in the school community irrespective of the kind of work they do. We were also bidding farewell to the current cohort of EAs and GSAs in the PYEI program.

Our Grade R had a Year-end Rainbow Picnic with all the Foundation Phase teachers and learners. It was organized by the Deputy Principal Ms Kgechane. Each class selected a particular colour represented in the rainbow. They enjoyed all the festivities, music and dance. They ended the day with swimming and afterwards they enjoyed their snacks. Thanks to our Life Skills SES Ms Ndebele for gracing our occasion. We felt honoured by accepting our invitation.
