CURRENT HOMESCHOOLING LEGISLATION
It's important to stay up-to-date on what is happening in state legislatures around the country. The freedom to homeschool and to choose how it's done is vital for all homeschooling families. Today we highlight Ohio House Bill 602

This bill that would place protections for homeschool support groups in the daycare and zoning laws. Under this bill, when families who homeschool in compliance with the home education law gather together, and at least one parent stays with the kids, it isn't considered an unlicensed daycare.

This bill would lower the compulsory attendance age in the state from 6 to 5.

HOMESCHOOLING PROJECT IDEA: Top 40 Radio Show

Create your own top 40 radio show! If you prefer, you can make it a top 5, 10, what ever number you feel comfortable with. The first thing you'll need to do is figure out the type of show you'll host? Will there be one type of music? Many genres? You'll next need to make a programming list, which will include the songs you plan to play, a schedule of breaks, maybe some time for others things you want to say to your audience. Once you're ready for you show, do a live broadcast in your house. If you have a recording device, that would be an interesting way to document your show.

Another good thing to do before starting is listen to the radio a bit if you don't usually do that. How do they balance the music, talk, breaks and advertising?
