An interesting long story, short version - this wonderful couple searched extensively to reconnect with me to officiate their wedding. The couple had a beautifully decorated room at a Masjid and surrounded only by family and close friends to celebrate their union. Adding to the memorable celebration was a wide spread of delicious food and ethnic mouthwatering desserts which are best enjoyed with loved ones. Humbling to join faith leaders to again participate in an annual high school interfaith conference under the theme “Be Humble” through the lens of different religious teachings.
The format of the conference included meaningful interactive group discussions with selected gifted students from leading high schools in Ontario.
Personally, I advised the participants that they can overcome arrogance and feel humble by getting involved in services which will benefit socially underprivileged people. One main important closing takeaway from the conference was music to the ears as these young participants agreed on describing humility as the queen of someone’s character that’s embodied in the life a good person - I’m optimistic for the future!

We’re celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, al-hamdu lil-lāh. We can’t say every bit of these last 25 years has been perfect, but we live by a special motto, “a marriage is just two imperfect persons refusing to give up on each other” - we’ve made our marriage a priority and kept Allāh at the center of it, while raising three amazing young adult sons whom we grow more proud of daily!
By the way, before we got married, we never knew there was a correct way to eat, chew, cough, sneeze, breathe, yawn, etc...now we know :) yet, amidst all of these learning curves and after all of these years, we still manage to give each other butterflies & headaches!
25 years ago, we had no idea of what amazing things were in store for us and we’re so grateful that Allāh decreed us for each other. We continue to work hard on our marriage and we can’t wait to see what happens in the next 25 years, in shā Allāh.

An honour to receive a special invitation from our Humber Family to join Jay and Barbara and witness their extraordinary generosity to Humber River Health (HRH) with a ‘transformational’ $50 Million donation from the Hennick Family Foundation - the largest single donation in the hospital’s history. To recognize this historical donation, Humber renamed its flagship site near Wilson Avenue and Keele Street to Hennick Humber Hospital (HHH).
This transformational gift will allow HHH to build on its strong foundation of innovation and accelerate the future of healthcare by investing in advanced technologies, clinical programs, research, and education, this support will empower HHH teams to continue delivering the safest, highest quality care for its patients.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, a weekly Khatm al-Qur’ān program to collectively keep in touch with the Qur’ān was suggested to Br. Haroon and under his leadership, and over the years, a group of dedicated participants completed 350 Khatm al-Qur’ān on March 29, 2026, al-hamdu lil-lāh. To commemorate this unique milestone, a special ceremony was held at the Sayeda Khadija Centre and Br. Haroon was deservedly acknowledged with a surprise presentation of a leadership certificate that was presented to him!

In Islam, respecting our elders is a hallmark of noble character, reflecting in various aspects of our lives, and it also brings blessings into our lives. Three outstanding Canadian Muslims of Trinidadian heritage were deservingly recognized for their immense contributions to pioneering work within the Muslim community, the Canadian society, and internationally.
It was an honour to be the guest speaker at the inaugural Eid ul Fitr celebration and special award ceremony hosted by Salaamz Canada (Mr. Richard Aziz) and the auspices of the Trinidad and Tobago Consulate, Toronto, Canada.

Allāh guides whom He wills! He guided our brother to revert to Islam in the month of Ramadan. May Allāh bless our brother to benefit our ummah and society. One of his dear friends called me “the cool Imam” - their words :) to facilitate the reverting process to make it a memorable occasion for them, may Allāh accept. A special thanks to Imam Dr. Hamid Slimi and please support the Sayeda Khadija Centre for facilitating the proceedings.

Launching my website as an easy way to connect with my continuing work for more than 2 and a half decades in Canada. Work that has gained recognition via my humbling personable style and down to earth approach. I’m grateful to maintain a good reputation which continues to grow in stature by officiating multiple milestone observances for individuals, families, and various communities. In addition, I’ve a huge passion to serve as a chaplain for first responders across Canada and also serve as a faith ambassador in leading numerous interfaith activities. Link in bio 🎉

Truly it’s only Allāh Who guides to the straight path and He has guided our brother to Islam. May Allāh bless our brother to be steadfast and to use his knowledge and wisdom to benefit the ummah. I can testify that our brother is an excellent resource and I’ve relied on his expertise before his reverting to Islam to help in sensitive situations in our community. This journey is all about our brother and the support of his loved ones who encouraged him to this path, however, it was humbling to facilitate the build up to the reverting process and the actual moment.

The Lord be Praised. We congratulate Musa 🎉 on securing his first full time job. We’re all extremely proud of him because he proved to us that he’s committed to finding a career that fills his passion. His eventful first day will remain memorable and we hope that he’ll enjoy the journey! We pray that his artistry will enhance the routine of the professional players: Eat, Sleep, Hockey, Repeat!
May Allāh always protect him from all harm and grant him success in both worlds, اللهم آمين.

January 2026 is 55 years of marriage - Emerald Anniversary of our beloved parents. My brother and I, along with our loved ones beg Allāh to continue blessing them with barakah (blessings) & sa’aada (happiness), اللهم آمين.
Five good deeds to parents that will bring rewards; (i) Make du’a for them - my Lord, have mercy on them, as they raised me when I was a child. (ii) Obeying them in good deeds. (iii) Giving charity on their behalf. (iv) Being gentle and respectful to them. (v) Maintaining their family ties.
