Murder of Christian Pastors & Leaders In Manipur :

The Attack -
According to reports, armed men ambushed two vehicles travelling on Tiger Road between Kotzim and Kotlen in Kangpokpi district. The victims were returning from a church conference in Churachandpur.

The Victims

They were not combatants. They were not armed men. They were church leaders, pastors, and servants of their communities. Their murder is not only an attack on individual lives. It is an attack on the fragile work of peace in Manipur.

Those Who Were Killed and Wounded

We mourn Reverend Vumthang Sitlhou, president of the Thadou Baptist Association and former General Secretary of the Manipur Baptist Convention. We also mourn Reverend Kaigoulen, Pastor Paogoulen, and the driver who was killed with them.

We pray for the recovery of Reverend S.M. Haopu, Reverend Hekai Simte, Reverend Paothang, and all others wounded in the attack.

Christians Ambushed & Killed In Manipur (India).

Church leaders of the Thadou Baptist Association (TBA) were reportedly ambushed while returning from a Baptist conference in Churachandpur.

According to initial reports, Rev. V. Sitlhou, former General Secretary of the Manipur Baptist Convention, amd two others were reportedly killed in the attack. Several other pastors and leaders also sustained injuries.
